Yest they would get more expensive - but you may find good deals for some that are not so close to the centre but are next to a U bahn stop.

Yeah, but we've already established you're weird, so...

Not like I drink every day (or sometimes week!), but... Sunny Munich day and a couple of beers just belong together...

We're missing one important detail, in Munich it's the size of the container that counts. A Maß would be one order but you would have downed 4 X 25cl bottles !

Alright guys, give me your starting line-ups. I'm petrified of putting Alonso on the field, even though his efforts have been much appreciated this year. Real is deadly on the counter and I think it is unquestionably that Alonso's lack of pace would be an utter liability in this game. The ideal situation would be that Martinez would be in the midfield with Vidal, but I don't think there is much of chance that Lotti will resort to that as Hummels and Javi have been a rock solid defensive duo. Considering what line-ups Ancelotti has used this year, I think the best realistic starting XI we could field would be the following one:

Lewy
Ribery Muller Robben
Vidal Thiago
Alaba Hummels Martinez Lahm.

For just a 1 night stay you can find somewhere around the Main Train Station which is a central hub of all U-bahns and is within short walking distance from Karlsplatz where the pedestrian area towards Marienplatz starts. The downside is that the area is not a great touristy area and not somewhere to go walking around late in the evenings. I usually use the map on Booking.com to have an overall visibility but try to book from the hotel's own website and you will save further.

In 2012 I had stayed at Hotel Condor in Zweigstraße a short street which is not far off the main road Bayernstraße which is always full of people and somewhat more re-assuring than Schillerstraße (the parallel one closer to the train station) - It had a sizeable clean room and good breakfast and good ratings.

In the same street, there is another one - Hotel Eder, I've never stayed but seems to have good reviews as well.

Although you'll find a lot in longer Schillerstraße (the parallel one closer to the train station) keep in mind that this street is full of strip clubs, 'casinos' and arabic/middle eastern restaurants.

As mentioned the prices in this central area may go up due to the match.

Last February I've stayed at Wetterstein Hotel - Which is a bit removed from the centre but immediately next to Wettersteinplatz U-Bahn stop which just a couple of stops away from Sendlinger Tor, another starting point for the pedestrian area towards Marienplatz. There is Grünwalder Stadium just across the road and within walking distance to Bayern's HQ @ Säbener Straße (good to go and take a look in the morning of your departure day if the flight is in the afternoon). There are a couple of restaurants close by if you don't want to go to eat from the centre but the area is dead quite in the evening.

I hope that this is of help - if there are others who know about some other good hotels it would be good to share for match trips.

I had a nightmare last night... Real began countering us and got 0-5 :$

Then we recovered and it was 5-5 and suddenly I realized I was dreaming and had changed the channel. Despite knowing that it was a dream I kept trying to find the channel to see if we could get a goal difference margin for the return leg, but I was unsuccessful in finding it xD

Weirdest dream I've had in a while.

Would be surprised if Xabi Alonso didn't start to be honest and Ribery started over Costa too...

The 10 commandments of this match :

1. Thou shalt not concede any goal.

2. Thou shalt score at least one goal.

3. Thou shalt do whatever it takes so that Ramos and Modric get a yellow card each.

4. Thou shalt never let Real Madrid breath.

5. Thou shalt win this game at any cost.

6. Thou shalt evermore wear red at home.

7. Thou shalt entertain MUTU (and his bride) and get his money's worth.

8. Never shall ye question thy coach's decisions.

9. Remember the 0-4, and give your lives to avenge it.

10. Thou shalt not question the referee directly to his face, only under thine breath as thou lookest at the ground, and thou shalt not sayest a word about his mother.
