We are doomed anyway but Kovac comes out with the most head scratching lineups to make things really bad, like today. We might as well go with the less crap players and play guys in their best positions to do something in this situation.

As soon as I saw that lineup today I knew we weren’t winning but the 1-5 was unexpected even with Kovac as manager.

That's a potential 10-1 not a 101%

You even had the audacity to bench our best player today?

The lineup was almost perfect IMHO. But yeah, Kovac happened.

Davies is a better winger than a fullback and no one can convince me otherwise.

Just like Kimmich is a better RB than a CDM.

You could potentially have Davies partnering Gnabry on the wings.

What makes you so certain of that? He's played like one game as a winger here?

Until the day I see Davies being more than the straight forward guy offensively, I think he's well placed at LB. He's looking good in tackles. Everything else will come with experience.

Saying that Kimmich is a better RB is not really a bold statement...

Actually I wouldn’t mind Davies succeeding at LB because of how average Alaba has been for years now.

This is a potential match winning lineup that we most certainly will not see:

You seriously want us to bench Pavard and Alaba to play Mai, Martinez and Perisic?

Yes why not? If we are going to lose then might as well give experience to a youngster?

Pavard was atrocious today and deserves to be reprimanded for his diabolical performance. Alaba has been averages for years now but I won’t blame him for today’s disaster because he never should’ve played at CB.

Perisic is a more reliable option than the mercurial Coman and Martinez has been solid whenever he has played this season so far.

Boateng and Pavard in Central defense guarantees that we won’t keep a clean sheet so might as well try something different. It’s not like we are gonna keep a clean sheet with Boa/Pavard, right?

Plus doing the same thing and expecting different results is silly. Mai/Martinez might lose it but with Boa/Pavard it is already expected.

I laugh my ass of everytime people think that the line-up actually matters while Kovac is the coach.
Especially when I see things like benching Coutinho (who's in poor form), for Perisic (who's in poor form, but the infinitely more useless player).

First paragraph: agreed

Second paragraph: what makes you say that?

Unlike Coutinho, Perisic has reached a meaningful final already plus has better stats...

So did Großkreutz...
What stats?
Coutinho is a better dribbler, better passer and way better at keeping possession. Also he seems way quicker. Perisic is pretty much useless 90% of the time as a winger in this team. At least Coutinho can play a nice pass even when he's playing shit (see Bochum, the pass before Müller's goal).
I'm basing my opinion on what I've seen from both on the field so far. And you won't change my mind, and I really doubt you're going to try and tell me that Perisic is a better footballer than Coutinho.

If you want absolutely zero creativity with Müller, Gnabry and Perisic up front, sure go ahead.

Nope, clearly the best available team at the moment is this:

Neuer
Kimmich, Pavard, Boateng, Alaba
Thiago, Javi
Gnabry, Müller, Davies
Lewandowski
