United fan, what's Rooney's status, will he play? And do you think Kagawa will play from the start?

Hard to say on both fronts. Moyes says he's doubtful, and when it comes to mind games, Moyes is non-existent at them so I'm leaning towards him not playing, however we'll find out whether he travels or not the same day/day before so that'll be answered then.

As for Kagawa, I hope he does start him, especially as he did well today, but I expected him to start last week too.

For the upcoming game, [Lahm should be] a midfielder for sure. In the later stages (hopefully), it would be better to get him to RB. Rafinha is playing great, but Lahm's pinpoint crosses are sorely missed.

Rafinha made some assists too... cannot recall in which games. I am not sure if was him who crossed for Mandzu were the latter then headed the ball for Bastian to score.

Yes, it was Rafinha who provided that cross to Mandzu in the first leg against Manchester Utd.

Rafinha has had 9 assists so far this season.

We need to close the game in the 1st half which is unthinkable in a competition like this, at this stage, vs an EPL team...
The reason being that we are going to have a thin subs bench and almost nobody to turn the game around or to make an impact... + the fatigue of course.

I am not a big fan of Gotze and his recent form; however I've noticed that he is far more effective when he starts the game rather when he is subbed in.
Therefore I would sacrifice either Robben or Muller. I am getting confused cause the last sentence contradicts my first paragraph... :x :?

I don't think there will be any fatigue problems, seeing that most players were rested. I predict our bench to be:

Zingerle - van Buyten, Højbjerg, Götze, Pizarro, Weiser

Weiser came on at the 87th minute against Viktoria Plzen so he has had a very small taste of Champions League, but Højbjerg and Zingerle don't.

It's become a huge problem and we probably have more depth than anyone else.

GK: no backup
LB: no backup (except an inexperienced Sallahi)
CB: DVB
RB: no backu0 (except an inexperienced Weiser)
Lahm: no backup
Robben/Ribery/Kroos: only backups for all 3 positions are either Muller or Gotze, one of which will also be starting (unless we count an inexperienced Hojbjerg, who quite honestly I wouldn't mind playing)
Mandzukic: Pizarro (the only position we're comfortable in)

:?

Come on, it's not that bad!

GK: If Neuer gets injured, he'd be replaced by Zingerle
LB: If Alaba gets injured, he'd be replaced by Lahm and Højbjerg would take Lahm's place in midfield.
CB: If Dante/Boateng get injured, they'd be replaced by van Buyten. If BOTH of them get injured, then Højbjerg can play as CD.
RB: If Rafinha gets injured, he'd be replaced by Lahm and Højbjerg would take Lahm's place in midfield.
CDM: If Lahm/Kroos get injured, they'd be replaced by Højbjerg or Götze.
CAM: There's Pizarro, Götze, Kroos and Müller who can play here.
LAM: If Ribery gets injured, he'd be replaced by Götze or Müller.
RAM: If Robben gets injured, he'd be replaced by Götze or Müller.
ST: If Mandzukic gets injured, he'd be replaced by Pizarro, Götze or Müller.

We're still only allowed 3 substitutes in a match. It could be Pizarro, Götze and someone else. Only that 'someone else' is below par, and even then, it could be Højbjerg who I trust.

It doesn't really matter, he is not world class anyways.

He is world class, absolutely brilliant keeper, and I'm not one to give my teams players undue praise. Best keeper in the world IMO, although I can also understand Bayern fans thinking Neuer is the best too.
