1 fact:
In last 2 years Liverpool

- Get 1.33 point per game in the fields larger than 7000 m2.

- Get 2.6 point per game in the fields less than 7000 m2.

Back to the point I already mentioned after 1st game, Anfield is exactly 6868 m2 (<7000) while Allianz Arena is 7140 m2 (>7000)

We have advantage of home "ground" in this game, literally, indeed. :mrgreen:

Interesting stats but I have a feeling that they are skewed simply because them playing at Anfield on a small pitch is not the only factor to their advantage... There's the home advantage too. What about points in all away matches in stadiums smaller than 7000 Square metres?

I don't have time to count all their away games but this is for Champions League alone.

- San Paolo Napoli is 105x68 = 7140 = Allianz Arena -> Liverpool lost

- Rajko Mitić Stadium Red Star is 110x72 = 8030, about 200m2 more than Anfield -> lost

- Parc des Princes : same 105x68 -> lost

- Otkrytie of Spartak Moscow 105x68 -> draw

- NK Maribor 105x68 -> win (the gap of power is too huge here 0-7)

- Ramon Sanches of Sevilla 105x70 -> draw

- Etihad: 105x68-> win

- Roma Olimpico 105x66<7000 -> lost

I let you count in EPL games, all information can be found on transfermarkt.

Wait... your original stat includes only European competitions? No Premier League, FA Cup, League Cup etc?

it is not my stat, souce here
https://twitter.com/SimonBrundish/statu ... 1497358336

Anyway, it is just 1 more stats to imply the different point I already realized after Anfield's game.

Their attacking style have more advantages on the smaller field.
Also in defense, they have less space to cover when pressing.

If all these stats mean that Bayern will advance to the next round then I’ll gladly take my one week ban/hiatus.

I’ve been part of similar ban bets on other forums and it’s real fun! Who’s up for this? :mrgreen: :twisted: 8)
If Bayern won, I don't think more than 2 users would remain unbanned.

Of course, but if they progress I don't care for the CL much anymore :P

This is pretty interesting. I would have thought it would be the opposite: that larger fields would favor Liverpool's speedsters and smaller fields require more intelligent passing.

I suppose in larger fields they have to run more distance with every counterattack and get tired more quickly. Also a larger field gives us more space to play our own possession game.

Nah, I don't think this forums has enough users to make it fun if more than 3-4 leave at the same time.

PD: initially, I thought the banning thing was decided in relation of every user's original posture (hence the comment that no one would be left standing if Bayern won).

There won't be any banning for losing this bet. If you want to get banned, you break the rules, but then that ban might end up being permanent not just a week.
