Bayern should try to schedule a friendly against RB Liepzig because they are in a similar situation as us and against a Europa League team like Olympiacos.

The First goal will be key in this game. Sounds cliche but if Bayern score first that probably will be that. Chelsea can be dangerous if they score the first goal.

We want to win 8 in row in the CL and extend the record. :)

I'm started to get a bit agitated with this match. Our opponents will play the FA Cup final exactly a week before this match and be in top match fitness, while we would have played one (possibly internal) friendly in the previous 34 days.

It’s going to be something we only find out on the day. There really is no telling whether the break will have been an advantage or a disadvantage (rest, time to focus vs no match fitness) until the day, I think. I’m hopeful that not enough time has passed to ruin our form.

Chelsea are very inconsistent at the moment and that worries me more. It depends a lot on which Chelsea shows up. I’m glad we have a 3 goal cushion at this point.

not worried about it. sure Bayern have a long vacation beforehand, but even if they're not 100%, they only need 1 goal and Chelsea will need to score 4... that's just not realistic

Chelsea have scored 3 goals in 3 of their last 5 matches.

...against Man U, Crystal Palace, and Watford. They also lost against Sheffield United and West Ham....

not to mention that the only team they held scoreless (which they would also have to do against Bayern in order to simply force extra time) was Watford.

I'm not sure that after 34 days of not playing football albeit one friendly we'd be much better than a match-fit Man U, Crystal Palace or Watford.

   come on man... after 2+months of Corona break, Bayern won 11 games in a row by a combined score of 33-9...

not that i think Bayern will have an easy time in the CL in August... but the odds of Chelsea winning 3-0, 4-1, etc. is just so unlikely

We were playing opponents who were in the same situation. This is different. It's almost like our entire team was out injured for around 3 weeks then got back in training and all are expected to be playing again.

It’s not exactly rocket science! They train every day, "match fitness" is not enough to lose to a completely inferior team, let alone 0-3!

Meanwhile I see photos of them at beaches, while other clubs are working their socks off. Including French clubs.

Stop with that fear Mutu. I thought we would be worse after the COVID break and we were the best with all victories in all competitions.

I want to believe this will repeat in the CL, too.
