Good thing I have a soft spot for Ajax. Possibly my third favorite team after Bayern & Arsenal.

1) literally nothing happened. We did nothing.
2) If you remember how we played under Ancelotti, it was that but with worse players.
3) No one played well except Neuer and (im the few minutes he had) Gnabry.

No joke: without Neuer Ajax would've won 4-1....Neuer made the same amount of saves as he did against Real in 2017. To give you a picture.
She’s beauty, she’s grace, if u tell her she only watches football for the attractive players she’ll punch u in the face.

Full disclosure though, he almost conceded a really embarrassing goal.

Serious Question: Is watching the highlights/replay worth it or should I just forget about it because it will make me feel worse?

The latter...Unless you want to scout players we should be buying next Summer.

Depends on whether you're interested in what Ajax has to offer, because it's them you're going to see in highlights mainly.

Best bit was Neuer's bizarre save where he stuck out his foot and volleyed it away

Javi and Thiago were so outplayed it’s not even funny. This so called rotation is a joke. We clearly are picking up injuries anyways so who cares. We need discipline, our players can’t seem to handle the game otherwise. Make them work for their starting spots and reward them for producing results. Too much rotation just causes confusion.

There’s a user here (his National flag is Dutch btw) who wanted to rotate Neuer for Ulreich

Re: [2018-10-02] Bayern Munich vs AFC Ajax

Postby Ed. » Wed Oct 03, 2018 12:35 am

I had posted a while back that we'd be heading into european oblivion as Ajax and Milan did and how ironic that it was Ajax at the other end shoving us in that direction. Slowly but surely the performances have been moving from stellar to top level to mediocre over the last 3 CL campaigns.

Nothing will change at this club till Uli and Karl are still at the helm.

It's time for me to take a break from Bayern after 25+ yrs.

I can think of worse moments in the past (not qualifying for CL for example, the Klinsman debacle), but there was a difference with those previous phases. We were trying to incrementally build towards where we ultimately reached in 2012-2015. No one expected Bayern to be solving problems in one swoop by bringing out the cheque book (Though we did actually do that with Ribery, Toni, Klose ..). You wouldn't be a true Bayern fan with if you did. The club and fans were unified in expectations and plans for the future and we got there, together.

But we've (nay Uli + Duminigge) have really blown it since then. There is a clear schism now between what most fans and club want. The biggest concern for me is not even Uli + Dumminige themselves but how they seem to enjoy complete and unconditional support of the board. We are heading towards an Arsenal + Wenger saga of our own here.

Replacing Kovac, Robbery is only going to be a bandaid solution to a problem that needs open heart surgery.

Look at Juventus's model. Making a significant signing every season and after 3 seasons, you look at their side and think how the hell did that happen? They have clearly adopted a policy of no half measures. Their overall spending per season is no more than Bayern's either.

We need new thinking along similar lines at the board level. The club is heading quite rapidly back towards the mid 2000s where we really only participants in the CL, never really contenders. In fact, in the blink of an eye, we are already there.
Ed.
