BuLi places in UCL should be lowered to 3... No use in having shit teams bottling the group stage and still sharing the TV pool with us...

One extra place or direction qualification for leagues below top 5.

But that would make BL even worse.

And even if BL is far from Premier League or La Liga, we're still better than Serie A

But maybe a new format where the 4th from Germany, Spain, Italy and England goes to the Europa League rather than the Champions League could be interesting.

Europa League has become a big pile of sh*t nowadays. It only gets serious once it gets to the quarterfinals.

Level in EL is still too low even post-quarter finals. Old Uefa Cup was very good when 2-3 placed teams from top leagues played there. After 99 season it went downhill.

Can't understand why we included Arrey-Mbi and excluded Nianzou.

A team needs a certain amount of youth products

Nianzou hasn't played professional football since March. He has missed almost the entire training camp. Meanining once returns in a month or so he hasn't played or trained professionally for eight months. I'm going to assume that's at least going to take 4 weeks and then we're already approaching Christmas and the group stages will have concluded.

Yes and no. Arrey-Mbi does not count as a youth product as he hasn't fulfilled the requirement of being under contract for 3 years. And had he did, at his age, he would fit in the B list and not take Nianzou's place.

It's 15 days for him to be back, as per Transfermarkt.

Even with that, that's putting him past the first group stage match (the 21st; 15 days puts him back on the 23rd) and the final group stage match is just 47 days after his "projected" return - 9 December. Take 3-4 weeks to get match fit after returning on the 23rd and you're already somewhere around 13-20 November, at which point half of the group stage is already finished....So I expect they've basically decided having someone available for the whole group stage is more valuable than having someone who is only probably going to be available for half (and of course there is no need to rush him back right now, either, so they can take their time).

I suspect if he is fit he will make the KO-stage squad.
