IMO if VAR is allowed then it should also be possible to retroactively cancel the goal after the game.

That would be too unfair though. Imagine you park the bus and waste time instead of trying to score because you're winning, but after the match they cancel one of your goals because of a ref mistake and now can't get a time machine and attack more.

Agree. But VAR should be used to ban Lahoz and other egregiously bad referees (Kassai) from ever referring again.

Yes, there are too many complications for it to work in practice. As we know that goal would have influenced the rest of the game. Such clear and indisputable situations (see also our games vs Real under Heynckes) are so infuriating though.

Just give each time the right to ask checking VAR (like tennis) and everything will be fine. If referee still try to bend the truth, medias and fans could end their career.

Yes they could do that but to be effective and catch episodes not just the ones you happened to see with your naked eye, there would be a representative of each team in the VAR room equipped with their own equipment to independently be able to check episodes and raise a flag.

Pre var there were mistakes , some genuine some malicious... but now football has been reduced to a video game.... plus we are still seeing dubious decisions.
I am not totally against this tool but the way it is being used it is ruining the sport.

Why has football been reduced to a video game? I don’t understand the comparison.

I don't know, maybe Haaland's robotic movements and interviews?
