Ten group games
One two legged K.O tie
And then final 8 (like 2020)

Nice

Yep, adding 4 group matches and decreasing 2 KO matches.
But increasing games overall, and giving the more exciting final tournament we had last season.

As far as I’m concerned it depends on a number of specific factors, like how the groups are formed and who the extra teams are. Probably it will mean more lower quality games so I’d be against that.[/quote]
Yes but those 4 extra matches are against low quality opposition.

Six groups of six teams each.
Top two from each group advance
Four third best finished teams

Last 16 on a two legged K.O match

Final 8

Yeah I think the trouble with that proposal is that IMO it just waters down the competition further. With the expanded UCL and the new "Europa Conference League" and etc sooner or later you're going to have half of all the top leagues' teams playing in European football. I don't think anyone is watching the UCL right now and thinking "What would really improve this competition is having a team like Real Madrid play a couple of extra matches against Grasshoppers Zurich" or whatever, hahaha.

Anyways, perhaps it will all soon be moot, as the proposed Super-League seems to be heating up again...

They are playing decently but are a bit exposed at the back. Bayern would probably have scored a couple by now.

At some point, joining a European super league might be the only way a team like Bayern will remain viable as a continental heavyweight. BuLi is just too shitty, other teams are way too mediocre and conformists, the economics and historical prestige just don't favor domestic leagues. Unless there are some major major changes in the way BuLi, the french league and Serie A operate internally, the concentration of power within each league is bound to become even harsher and the concentration of power in England too.

Keylor Navas saves Man United's mandatory penalty per game and VAR orders retake.

And I was laughed at when I mentioned that this could be the future of the UCL..

One k.o brings more adrenaline...
Also eliminates venues like Munich to host it...
