while juve / atletico / liverpool / bayern will be already out...

then you will get a #12 saying that bayern are not top 8!

Of course you will - just like after beating Besiktas and Porto we were "top4" and "make the semis every year"

They've got 39 points in the league, third place and just 5-6 points behind Liverpool and City who are breaking historic records this season. Tottenham are very strong.

Dude... Seriously... Grow a pair... It’s Tottenham... Even we would be favorites and we're way below you guys...

MUTU wrote:Wow, that was tough. At one point we had about 65% chance of meeting Roma, then we ended up with Liverpool.

Before the draw, Liverpool was the ONLY potential opponent that was rated as having a higher chance of winning the CL than us.

Not only that, but their style really hurts us, specifically the pace in their attack. Plus Klopp knows us all too well, especially Hummels and Lewandowski.

There was only one opponent I was scared of, and we got 'em.

So for the first time this season (yes, #12, you read that right), we will play matches where we are not BOOKMAKER favourites to win.

Yeah we already lost 3

You had to bring up the game vs Inter didn't you?

I thought that was the quarter-finals :(
That was an exception though, anyway. How likely is it for the previous year's finalists to meet each other in the round of 16? And Inter was super lucky in 2011 anyway.

Agree with the general feeling here.
A full strength Liverpool (especially in attack) will be too quick and too clever for this squad to deal with.

God, if Goreztka starts, he'll be like a rabbit in the headlights. I predict Klopp will target him and the poor guy won't know what hit him.
Tolisso and Thiago have to start in midfield.

As others have said, they do not really have great squad depth. Even If one of the front 3 is missing, it changes the dynamic.
Mane is really their most important player. The work he puts in is unbelievable.

Also, we have a goalkeeper at the moment who is leaking goals left right and centre.

They are on the up and are beginning a new cycle. We didn't realize (well, the folks that matter ) we were on the way down till it was too late.

Full squads and Liverpool to win both legs.
Players missing and we'll have to see..

Is there any chance of Tolisso being fit?

I think the very most optimistic prognosis had him perhaps back by March. The second leg comes up March 13 which is probably realistically also too soon. MAYBE in the quarterfinals but I wouldn't count on that either

Kane is out till early March so he will probably miss both games against Dortmund. I think it's a huge blow for Tottenham and makes us the favourites at the moment.

That's a weird comment. Normally you'd say they're good enough to win it in that case.

Germans, please correct me on this one, but I think I've read it a few times in German reports and the like... I get the feeling that Germans prefer to talk about playing in the final rather than being specific and say 'win it'. I used to get the feeling that the most important thing for Germans is to reach the final, then winning it is just a bonus.

What was definitely weird was the embarrassing part where Schweini didn't know there will be VAR in the Champions League now. The other guy corrected him in fact.

As far as I'm concerned: second place is first of the losers...
