So basically Kovac has no confidence in himself and the team. Noted.

I am still holding on to whatever shred of hope I can that the Fekir to Bayern rumors had some truth to them...

Could we also take Tanguy Ndombele ? I 've never seen such a player with De Bruyne 's throu ball + Modric's dribbling skills in a Kante's physique

Allegri 2 days ago:

“The goal is to remain amongst the top four teams,” he told the assembled press. “We aren’t the favourites but one of four or five teams that can win, even though this competition can be strange.

“A good performance will boost our confidence. We’ve made a leap forward with Ronaldo, but we must not forget Juve have reached the finals twice in recent seasons.”

Big difference putting his team in the top 4-5 to one who says 9 teams have a chance to win it, and doesn't name his team in those 9 (basically saying we have next-to-zero chance).

Fine with what, what Allegri said or what Kovac said? I am not fine with what Kovac said. If he thinks he has shit players or that he's a shit coach, he should resign. Every other coach would consider us in the top 9. But Kovac believes we're not worthy of reaching the quarterfinals. I expect the Bayern coach to be more ambitious than reaching the CL last 16.

I expect that some words were lost in translation. I would believe that he was naming the other "big" clubs along with us. If not, then the guy needs to check the badges on the training center where he's spending his time recently.

Well, Kovač is in one thing right - he is not a CL favorite with 35-36 years old wingers.

He said that well if he had really said that.

p.s. @Mutu stop being so insulting and insecure. :) What do you expect when the FCB board does everything to complicate coach's job?
Kovač is guilty because Uli and the Asshole can't see they are having an out-of-date policy and youth setup is completely screwed up where we haven't promoted any new first-team player for the last 6-7 years?

We all know where and to whom we must point the finger in this situation. So far he's doing a very good job at Bayern unlike unconvincing Ancefloppi, with 2 tough personalities in Ribery and Robben, who automatically become unhappy and frustrated when Niko takes them out the match.

He took an ungrateful job where he knew that his hands would be tied from the beginning. Imagine if we have sold Boateng for peanuts to PSG, what would happen with absent Hummels or Süle.

I simply don't wanna think about it, not to mention our current situation with fullbacks which is also very shaky.

As long as we go step by step, progress through group and K.O. stage, I'm more than happy. Our field display is very far from being good, our counter-attacks have been very poor for the last 4 years, defensive set-piece are also shaky... There is so much work to do and at the same time constantly think about Ribery and Robben's ego, feelings and emotions, the ones who were such a "gift" from Uli and the Asshole to Niko.

Agree. People who feel the need to talk themselves up are in my experience generally more insecure.

Exactly, I don't have a problem at all with what he said.
His following comments on it being difficult to win over 2 legs and about attacking players being the soup are telling.

Real, Barca, City, Liverpool, Juve , PSG are currently teams with more than an edge upfront over Bayern. I don't think a full strength Bayern beats any of those 6 at full strength over 2 legs unless we get some extraordinary midfield and defensive performances.

Seems like Kovac has made a similar assessment and I welcome it.
Be realistic, prepare for our weakness and we may yet achieve something rather than spout the same rubbish that the comedy duo Karl + Uli do which is that they have assembled some super squad.
