They really need to get rid of Russia from Pot 1 and give it to the next best in England or Spain, or maybe even the other finalist from the year before.

The sad thing is, if we're talking real quality there really should've been 4.

Agree to disagree there. Pot 1 should, *morally*, be composed of the 8 teams most likely to win the CL. I don't think either Chelsea or Tottenham belong in that group.

Both Madrid clubs have a bigger chance than both London clubs in my opinion, as well as Zenit.

Thing is, it'd be hard for us to make pot 1 in your scenario...

When was the last time we were not top 8 bookmaker favourites before the CL draw? I understand that we have never ever been top 8 #12 favourites, but let's use an unbiased metric. Currently we are 7th favourites for next season.

Yeah just because bookies say it does NOT mean we are also "most likely to win it"...

Just because you say we aren't doesn't mean we aren't. And the bookmakers are definitely more accurate than you who probably sincerely believes Bayer Leverkusen have a bigger chance than us of winning the CL next season.

At the end of the day it's fact that it's been a long while since we have been eliminated by a club that did not make the CL final. If we were always not in the top 8 you would expect us to get eliminated by many clubs who fail to reach the final.

There’s only one club in pot 1 we would likely beat... Two on a good day... But there’s a better club in pot 2 and 3-4 that are more or less on par and would at least give us a tough time...
