They actually lost standing in my eyes when they got him. though I wouldn’t call them my second team, but they’ve been my favourite English club way longer.

I think it's every bit as clever and ruthless, but not more or less so, as diving. Great option to take advantage of the system, but ideally you shouldn't have to / be able to do it although winning precedes all manner of superficial fair play. I hate that it's being lauded as some kind of phenomenal genius. It's dirty, but that's okay. Great goal.

Very dirty trick, disgusting. However not against the rules and Barca are to blame for being so in space.

Not as shameful as Mueller pretending to trip during a freekick.

Not really. Muller gave an indication that he was intending to kick the ball, unlike the Liverpool player. Basically a trip can actually happen for real, but what the Liverpool player did can only happen deliberately.

Mueller admitted it was deliberate. Not sure Liverpool's corner was planned.

Although they’re my favourite English team I’m not rooting for them. I’m all for Ajax. But Liverpool over Barca any day. Good to know a Spanish team won’t be winning.

It’s also pretty natural for me to wish the team that eliminates us all the best unless they do so controversially.

Me too ,but I have a feeling that it is going to be an all English final

I see absolutely nothing wrong with it. It’s no more wrong than a Mülleresque freekick routine or Xabi shooting under the wall. Deceitful yes, unfair no. I actually find it quite clever and exciting as usually when corner routines involve deceit or clever movement, all the action happens in the box, rarely do they involve the corner taker. Also you aren’t required to indicate when you are taking a freekick or corner. A hand up is usually just an market for your teammates to begin their runs.

I'm alright with that corner kick.

The one that I hate is when a player touches the ball, leaves and then a second player comes and dribbles the ball towards the box. That one is really unfair.

But this was a clever one. It is similar to when a free kick is taken quick

I'm not saying it wasn't deliberate - it obviously was. What I mean is in any free kick given, it is possible for the player to slip. Muller (or that player who slips) had already started running towards the ball. The defenders were expecting a shot. The slip distracts them a little but they were already in a mindset to defend the shot.

On the other hand with the corner every indication was that the shot is not coming yet and there was going to be a change in taker. This is why I consider it to be more dirty. I don't know whether it was planned or whether the player simply saw an opportunity after moving away, but the point is this kind of corner cannot be replicated accidentally. It has to result from the player deliberately choosing to play dirty.

That corner was great, fairness of it shouldn’t even be a topic of discussion. It’s only too bad that our offense became so predictable that things like these spark attention.

I guess I just disagree that it’s dirty. When I think of dirty, I think of Pepe kicking at players, Suarez biting, Neymar going down with absolutely no contact, or Ramos elbowing and attempting to injure players. What they did was tricky and deceitful, but I would not consider it dirty or unprofessional

They were looking like they tried to change the corner kick taker remember. That's the distinction for me there that sets this apart from a dummy or a quick free kick. The moment Trent walked away from the ball, everyone (let's face it, including yourself) assumed the play was not on until the new taker steps up and I'd forgive the defending team for making this reasonable assumption except it wasn't intuitively in the rules.
