No offense my friend, I don't remember correctly, but was not you one of the people who were against the transfer in the summer?

Excuse me if I'm wrong.

Nope. I just wondered how they would afford him and if he would break their wage structure. But there was never a doubt he would take them to the next level, and he did.

So in 180 minutes with our €770,000,000-worth squad we manage two shots on target against Liverpool, scoring just one goal from an own goal.

Meanwhile ten Hag's €420,000,000-rated Ajax have managed to put TWENTY shots on target in 250 minutes vs Madrid and Juventus (plus however many more they add in the next ~20 minutes)...and have now scored 6 in those three matches.

But we will hear Kovac tell us "Yes, but Klopp has spent 500 million in the past four years"

In his first two transfer windows with the team, Ajax have spent only 60m, with a net spend of just 40m.
In Kovac's first two transfer windows with the team, we'll have spent at least €130m (and that's assuming we sign Hernandez, Pavard, Arp, and NO ONE else) for a net spend of ...€40m.
Kovac OUT!!!

Ajax twice in this game was unplayable! there were 10mins in the first half and second half that simply didn't let us breath.
Awesome football by Ajax and always the same shit for Juventus.
Unless a single player invent something out of nothing we're never there to make shots or being dangerous
We've been lucky they had few chances to score but always failed to deliver.
While Juventus had only two chances in the second half.
Half-cross/shoot by Cancelo where the keeper made a very good save and Douglas Costa in Ronaldinho mode dribbling past 4 players and hitting the pole ;( at minute 87' dang.

That wasn't a penalty. I was even watching on RAI 1 and they said no penalty too. Pull was too mild. That said, we've sometimes seen them given, but not something I agree with.

Better count your blessings, Valerio, you scored an away goal from literally your only shot at goal, which was practically straight at the goalkeeper.

The only reason I don't wish juve to win it ... is cause of a certain player that I detest....
Otherwise I don't care, their supporters deserve one after all those heartbreaking misses...
@valerio against real I supported juve believe it or not... and I screamed when super mario did that goal

Interesting that you are making the argument of not spending in the so-called world class players. Ajax's players might worth a ton of money now, but they did not go around splashing cash: they developed them or bought them smart for peanuts from smaller clubs to assemble a team based on cohesion and a predefined concept. Why Bayern can't do the same? Why we can't have the same scouting deployment and efficient academy? We had them both at times in the past and built teams similar to today's Ajax; but still some believe that we need to become the next Man Citeh or PSG if we want to be competitive.
Maybe even the so called "world class" that we have is not really at that level and we could be better off going back to the basics.

You can't expect even Ajax to consistently be like Ajax is today. There are tens of thousands of clubs trying, and failing, to emulate that. No club has consistently done well in Europe with youth products in the last 25+ years. A big element of luck is needed.
