Bayern play Wolfsburg away on Saturday next week but then play Besiktas on Tuesday. If this was Spain/Italy/Portugal/France the fixture would be advanced to Friday to give the players one more day to prepare or rest.

Why so? Why not protect your only team left in the CL especially when Germany has dropped two places in the UEFA coefficients :?:
There are two answers...
Cause they are Germans...
And cause the team involved is called Bayern

^ I get what you’re trying to say but Juventus are hated in Italy too, but their games are forwarded to a Friday if they play on a Tuesday. (They are playing Fiorentina tomorrow because they got Spurs on Tuesday) Juventus are single handedly responsible for improving Italy’s coefficient. It would make sense for the Germans to help out their best bet in the CL. Forget about the national level hatred/jealousy and look at the bigger picture! #-o

Juve is hated by the men in street otherwise they are kept in soft wool by the italian football association

America USA wrote:^ That’s alright but what are Bayern supposed to do? Deliberately drop points to make the BL “competitive”? Bayern are not responsible for the other clubs drawing/losing their games.

Also it's good that this year Bayern’s toughest opponents in the CL (Barcelona, Man City and PSG) are all running away with their respective league titles so far. So all of them too should, at least in theory, have the same problem of complacency.
Bayern aren't supposed to do anything but the situation is still a sorry one. I for one hate it when our rivals drop points as long as we have a healthy lead. Right now it's not a healthy lead in my opinion... It's a lead that encourages complacency in the team. Complacency in the Bundesliga leads to disastrous results in the Champions League.

Well if Bayern become complacent and stop winning then that lead could be cut short again. I have full faith in this team (the coach and the players) to remain professional in all our matches.

I think if Bayern thought it would be important, they would do something about it, who knows maybe for a particular team , especially a deep one, it may be better having it shorter, if no massive amount of injuries.
I think really that Bayern can pretty much get whatever they want concerning match determinations and havent heard a peep from them.

It’s no difference really... We played Paderborn on Tuesday... Total days of rest are the same... Risk of injury as well...

Juve are coming back silently... if they overcome Tottenham H they will surely be serious contenders to win the Cup

Just saw Juve's starting formation, the right side seems to be their weak link...
De Siglio Khedira Costa...
