Goretzka is ruled out of this fixture as Flick cited a “muscular problem”. Let’s hope that is the reason he has been playing poorly for so long....

No Goretzka and No Tolisso?
So maybe one of the academy guys (Will if Kimmich plays RB or Mai if Kimmich plays CDM) will finally get a chance?
Boateng must not start. At this point in his career he offers nothing to the team that an up and coming rookie like Mai wouldn’t.
For a club opposed to spending big and who claim to be “old-fashioned” we sure are super reluctant to play youth and develop our own talents

My guess is the trainers may not think he has the legs to play in the midfield long term. I couldn’t imagine another reason after his stud like performance vs Liverpool.

Never thought I'd say this again, but I also would like to see Alaba at the 6 once again. I feel he could complement Thiago much better than Kimmich, who's needed at RB anyways. Plus in anticipation for the return of Lucas, that would be interesting, as we also can't really bench Phonzie again:
