Bayern might have be in possession a lot, but simply not efficient... Which makes it even worse, imo. Seem to lack the pace and somehow badly connected. Don't like the way they played at all. Even if they hadn't lost this one goal at the end, still only a narrow win. Ok, let's say it was only Bayern B present, but Freiburg not exactly a world class, with this season's schedule, shouldn't really matter if B or not.

I think even Goetze was a bit frustrated with himself.

My hope is they turn this frustration and disappointment into a real drive, like what happened after the defeat by Leverkusen last season!

Looking at the whole picture (game quality, result, possible injury of Schweini), this really was a horrible match...

I still think playing Schweini like this is a waste. He's basically playing a 3rd central midfielder. I'm guessing if he's out we'll be seeing Kirchoff against Chelsea.

Who am I to question Pep's ingenious system, but it simply seems forced.

Guys nor the passing game or Pep or defense had to do with this, actually we played good, clear chances that gone wasted badly.
The only thing that we have to "blame" is our finishing which was really really poor and Baumann who was fantastic.

Shit happens like today,it's bad I know,I got mad too but Bayern definetely played better than last game(except the 2nd quarter vs 1.NFC) and it was t he "B team" so cool down and be positive.

The 4-1-4-1 is still in its very early stages to make a call. It would be unfair to compare it to the fully matured 4-2-3-1 used last year by Jupp. It would be more wise to compare it to the earlier versions of 4-2-3-1 i.e. yesteryear and the one before. Judging by our performances so far, I'd say to continue with the 4-1-4-1 as it seems to make us more dominant and powerful once perfected.

My only issue is, I have a feeling, whatever happens, Pep will not switch back to any other system... I' not sure I would if I was him. Sort of like admitting defeat.
There's planty of time to polish it into perfection, so let's see how it'll work out.
Not everyone in the team is in top form yet, too. I'm curious to see how it works out, when they deliver 100%. For the time being, I'm not impressed.

The main difference for me is in the late stages of the game. Instead of letting Freiburg worry about what to do with the ball and waiting for counters you are the ones with the ball and giving Freiburg chances to press you, take the ball away and counter you in the last 10 minutes of the game! When you're winning! For me that is completely foolish. Freiburg would do shit if you would just defend and let them come at you. Guardiola's way is to keep the ball but that style of play can prove very dangerous against sides that are ready to press you till the end.

Guardiola is a good tactician when it comes to improving his own team but he seems not to consider the fact that the other teams have their strenghs which they can use. And most of teams rely mostly on counterattacks which is the perfect countertactic for Guardiola system.
