Sebastian Hoeneß is absolutely fantastic! He has murdered us like a dead donkey. :o =D> =D> =D> =D>

As for us, Hans-Dieter Flick shall count next 7 days and look at the watch to see what he can get of new players which he has demanded.

Haha yeah I remembered that, and I supported it.

We lost the best midfielder in the world in Thiago, a superb 3rd winger in Perisic AND a decent RB in Kimmich. Coutinho was 100% meaningless. He was actually a net negative whenever he was on the pitch.

In his defence, although I targeted him immediately: Musiala had more of an impact than Coman. He had some good runs, though not much more.

some real hot takes, completing forgetting context. This result is a mixture of extremely tired players, no real subs or bench to speak of, and Hoeness knowing and exploiting Bayern's system. What was notable to me was that a ton of attacks targeted Davies' and Alaba's side, and were in many cases successful. Both had poor games and Hoffenheim exploited that. Our attackers were also gassed, and having to exert so much effort with ANOTHER game in just 3 days... not good.

Perisic left
Coutinho left
Thiago left
Sane is not in form yet and needs more time.

We have aaaah oooom eeeeh.. nobody in!!
We have a long season coming and 1 week to act, we need 2-3 players otherwise we will be the ex-champions at the end of the season.

Yes, exactly, but this shouldn't be seen as an excuse but as a warning.

100%. this game, in the big scheme of things, is fairly meaningless, but this is a sign of what's to come as the season progresses...

Then I don't see the point of your first post. We're all aware that there was a match against Sevilla in mid week and players are tired. That shouldn't be an excuse, though. We have subpart CBs and letting Thiago go was a disgrace (we should have kept him and lose him on a free if needed). Kimmich is nowhere near Thiago.

The squad was clearly tired and when that happens we don't have good positions on the wings from fullbacks and wingers to play the ball out there.
So the ball ends up being played around more in midfield than we want to and at the moment, we have absolute zero ability to create the pass before the assist or an assist from there even when Hoffenhiem were giving us so much space there.

Kimmich was ok when he played there(not great if you exclude the goal) but some of the passes Tollisso played were just no-no, straight looping balls with no angle or pace for Gnabry and Sane on a couple of occassions. He clearly is unsuited for that role and does not have the touch or skill set.
So is Goretzka. We need Goretza running in, tackling and getting on the end of crosses, not looking to pick a clever pass.

THis will keep happening, not just in this instance because our wings were running on fumes but with teams tactically setting up to force us to play where we don't want to go.

Without Thiago, It's in games like this where if we cannot replace him directly, then we need a number 10 to give Flick options.

@Punk: my first post is a summary of what i think happened in this particular game, but that doesn't mean it won't be an issue as the season goes on.

1. tired players: a lot of games this season
2. no subs or bench: a cause for point #1
3. Hoeness exploiting the weaknesses: could be particular to this game, but a couple of other opponents have countered Flicks system pretty well in the past (obviously never as effectively as this).

I think #3 is what it is, no system is perfect. But 2 must be solved in the next week...

and yes, i agree with your points.

My thoughts:

1. Kimmich is a midfielder.
2. Our high defensive line is vulnerable.
3.Play Musiala against Dortmund.
4.We won the CL with Alaba-Boateng but i think it would be better to give Lucas Hernandez a chance.
5.Players are fatigued.
6.Where was Cuisance?
7. Surely we can afford at least one signing?

This score was flattering for Bayern, and it actually made Dortmund's performance yesterday looked astonishingly good. I guess you will make Dortmund pay for this loss on Wednesday.

Well, a loss was bound to happen after an extremely demanding couple of months, but such scoreline is never nice to see. I wouldn’t be worried much about us getting back on our feet after this game. What worries me though, is the clear lack of depth in our squad. We have no one good enough to replace Lewandowski and Muller up front. We need a Perisic to fill in on the wings when our guys are exhausted/injured/out of form. We need a creative midfielder who can open up spaces for our attackers. And we obviously need a RB option.

Our tactics are very effective when everyone is fit, but when tiredness comes into play and our players are half a second late on the high pressing then we are dead

And that's gonna be a big problem with our lack of depth and the busy schedule. Even if we are luckier than ever and don't have any more injuries our squad would still be too thin :?
