I think that’s a bit harsh on your great performance today.Ben Gardner wrote:A hyped game that couldn't live up to it's expectations. Bayern is simply to good or not bad enough to let other teams play with them in the playground. Pure class Kimmich goal, you could see that Burki knew what was coming but had to capitulate anyway. Second half Bayern controlled the game totally, even when they were defending. Really don't know what to say about Dortmund, they are not just up for it to compete with Bayern in the long run, sad but true.

Were we at our best? No, of course not. But frankly, we rarely are when at the Signal Iduna.
We did exactly enough to leave with three points, and that's fine. A 1-0 gets you the same points as a 5-0. We noticeably tried to (and succeeded in) lower the pace in the second half - which is the smart play. A 1-0 win that gets you 3 points and conserves bodies/energies is better than a 3, 4, 5-0 win that also gets you 3 points but burns out your players more.
And as said above - the fearlessness/aggression is so nice. There's a noticeable confidence that's returned to the players. Overall we can be quite happy with the performance today and know that we've basically got one foot on the town hall balcony at this point.
