Feels good that we won. Three points is all that matters to retain the BL. Of course some users here would be frustrated with the win because it means that they didn’t get to do their usual “I told you so”/“Bayern won’t win” holier than thou dance

I feel like Lewandowski was the only player with an ambition to win the game. These mistakes from Neuer are the reason why he's not number 1 on my all-time greatest GK's list.

Well you can argue he messed up by starting him in the first place, but at least he got the substitute right.

Someone who won the CL when he was 19 years old and won everything with Real Madrid and Spain - everything that there possibly is to win in the game.
But it's only my list, don't PM me. :P :coffee:

Oh well, dude also had his fair share of blunders but that's just my opinion.

Two?

In the goal?

You think he should've deflected to the front?

IMHO it's not on Neuer but Thiago... His slide killed Michel being offside

Yeah, I think Neuer is good enough to eat least deflect it into the direction of an immediate teammate.

that's why we dont necessarily need to buy Sane at all cost. Just keep Perisic in that case though, we have up and coming Davies waiting on the line for LW too

The first goal was a horrible mistake by Neuer and he has been making those quite frequently. But unlike today, he got away with it because they didn't end up in a goal.

The second one is questionable. He cleared it across the line which is not a bad thing. Maybe he could have done better, but I wouldn't blame it on him

Overall the same issues that we've been seeing with Flick. Our offensive game is definitely way better and we create goal chances with ease. However our ridiculously high defensive line makes us vulnerable against any decent opposition. We don't have prime Neuer and Boateng to play like that.

That doesn't make sense at all. Casillas has been an error making machine since 2013. But obviously he was a beast in his prime, the same than Neuer.

I think it's a close call, but Neuer took the GK position to the next level. There have been plenty of great GK with reflexes and outstanding saves. However the way Neuer influenced the game is something that no other top GK has been able to replicate. Not even Victor Valdes.

A bit ot. Now I am seeing why italian football fans used to tell me that Buffon was the #1. @Manu's age Buffon was a titan.
And even Kahn was way better... he started doing such mistakes @35/36
Manu looks special just cause he rushes out ... and has a very good sense of football accompanied by very good skills with the ball in his feet
