I think the penalty was retaken because the referee hadn't whistled yet. Don't think he even had the whistle in his mouth. What a pathetic display from Leverkusen though. No wonder they are last.

Then shouldn't Bayern have the advantage? For example, if an attacking player enters the box and the penalty taker misses, the kick is not retaken, but had he scored it would be retaken. In this case, the attacking players made the error and yet were allowed to profit from it. And why did he wait for 3 shots at goal before he found his whistle?

The fact that he took so long us why I called it a circus. I'm convinced that had one of the chances gone in there would be no retake.

Yep. I think the referee was just waiting to see if Leverkusen would score. In the end they didn't so he whistled for a retake.

I thought the same at first. Unfortunately, I think by the book it's correct. The above scenario you've described is also correct...however, such infractions are ones that occur after the whistle has been blown. BUT, the "penalty kick process" does not *technically* start until the whistle is blown. The attacking player DID make the error, but it wasn't technically considered part of the penalty taking process. If the referee believes the attacking player deliberately took the kick early (either in the hopes the referee doesn't call it back OR to try and gain an advantage by 'reading' the GK) then the referee may give a yellow, but a retake is still correct. The logic behind this is that while the attacker gets another chance to take it, the goalkeeper theoretically gets another chance to save it. Of course, the trouble (or part of it, anyway) - as we saw today - is that there's no rule prohibiting the team from switching the penalty-taker on a retake. A retake is *technically* treated as a new penalty entirely, so there's no prohibition in the laws from switching the taker. Of course, this removes a big part of the GK's supposed "advantage".

Personally I think this rule is stupid - for me a penalty kick taken before the whistle should be an indirect free kick given to the defending team - but as it stands I think the referee actually got this part correct.

And I believe that many will listen to him...

It started on matchday one...

Again I will keep on stressing that Bayern should leave the Bundesliga asap...
They don't deserve to have FCB ...

Serie A or EPL should become our new league competition

Please you've said it before and nobody answered this horrendous idea. It was lost in translation when Kalle (?) jokingly proposed it. It was never serious. What do you propose, that Bayern corrupt some Italian officials so they allow them to found a new club in the lowest regional levels? And then what, you expect our players to play against the very worst players around? And what, stay winning each match 40-0? And you think players won't be kicked about there?

Or even when they get promoted to the Serie A?

Bayern will bring big money to the league that they will be playing in.
They won't start from the lowest divisions but immediately from the Serie A or the Premier League

So you are patriotic for some things, but then you want Bayern to play in the Premier League or Serie A ?

What kind of BS is that ramsej?

And I guess you would be complaining about refereeing in any other league just like you do in CL :D

I compare how bayern are treated by the dfl with how the big Italian , Spanish and English teams are pampered by their respective FAs.
As an example just look at the matchday calendars.
