So a deserved win in the end, and our Bundesliga lead extended to 6 points. :coffee:

2nd half was way better compared to the first, less missplaced balls etc.

Btw, Gnabry looks GASSED! As if he added 20 pounds, atleast he moves like that, damn. No acceleration whatsoever.

Musiala with a nice goal, especially for his confidence.

2-1 in the end, 3 points and now 5 ahead of BVB since they managed to only draw at Bochum. ( which made me some money again :coffee: )

EDIT: Its actually 6 ahead of BVB, not 5..

2 goals in 2 starts for Musiala in the space of (less than) 3 days.

I actually want to see something vs VFB.. Musiala next to Roca from the start. Roca had pretty decent passing and calmness on the ball. Where Tolisso's passing was pretty bad today, lost us a lot of balls.

Funny how some people disappeared from this thread after the HT. Just goes to show they are pussies inside.

Tolisso: 93.8% pass success (2nd in the team after Lucas), 12 out of 13 long balls successful, 4 key passes, 1 big chance created, 1 assist and MOTM according to Sofascore. I disagree with him getting MOTM but he certainly doesn't deserve getting dropped.

Musiala may have scored the goal but he had 25 accurate passes compared to Tolisso's 61. Musiala attempted no long balls or crosses either.

We won but it was more of how good the players are than tactics. I hope Nagelsmann realises that almost no wingers is not good for bayern. In the 2nd half there were times where Muller was on the right Davies keeping the left side and both Coman and Gnabry too inside.
The 3 CBs is simply a big NO atleast vs BL teams that defend with 10 men and try to counter with two three passes.
Also Tolisso-musiala partnership is shi t. They both are not natural CM. Maybe Nagelsmann should try Roca-Musiala( even though i think Musiala is better further up the pitch but our squqd is thin).
We desperately neeed a good midfielder after thisgo left and a good attacking RB.

He still lost a lot of balls and didnt track back really well. We need to have a midfielder who also thinks defensive and not just runs forward everytime or who cant keep if with the opponent attacking which was clearly visible today and he did look pretty bad at the 0-1..

Its not really dropping him, but just give him a rest and let Roca start. Tolisso has been out a long time and its a waste to gas him and we already dont have a midfield more or less.

Agreed… More intensity… Had another rough patch after the 1-1, but overall big improvement…

Re: Gnabry: Maybe it HAS something to do with his CoViD infection… Come to think of it, I think Goretzka was better before it as well… But maybe it’s just my imagination…

Difficult game for which Mainz had 1 week to prepare and rest. We just cant expect that the team will be fresh and fired up for such game against an opponent, which defends narrow and very agresively. Some players looked absolutely exhausted.

We had too many misplaced passes. We lack precision and compousure in midfield. Tolisso is taking the initiative now when both Kimmich and Goretzka are absent, but he is no holding midfilder. Too slow, too predictable. Although I have to say he run a lot and had a decent game.

Having said that we had a very good second half. First half was very poor. 3-4-3 is not working and we are wasting Lewy’s potential with that formation. He looks disapointed. He must be more invovled in the game. He has to be on the receiving end of crosses and passes in the box.

All in all job done.

Looking good with six points ahead of Dortmund. I guess so far we are having a better season than them :) .

Didn't watch the match, but it seems that we are so bored in the league and have no will to take it seriously.

Despite that attitude, 7 points advantage. One cannot be a pessimist and say FC Bayern is bad, just the competition, the one in so-called better form and run in all fronts.

For me its not important anymore to play nice and good looking. Only thing that matters is 6 points in the last 2 games.

Btw, that Musiala goal and how he took care of that defender and placed the shot around another defender and also the Coman handling of the Coco pass before the goal.. =D> =D>
