*Gladbach deservingly took the lead from a set piece, this time VAR couldn't save Dortmund, despite having it checked for a couple of minutes.

90% of the goals you've conceded in the last 3-4 seasons are either set pieces or crosses.

I just made that number up, but for sure it is close

Haaland's movement and precision are just too good. He is a like a cross between Müller and Lewandoski.

Burki is so bad... Dortmund could do much better than him. Never understood why they didn't replace him. He was probably the only shitty player they had starting back in Tuchel's time.

This made me curious so I thought I would look into it more. Just for this season; first is number of dead-ball goals (direct free-kick/set piece/corner), second is percentage of a team's total goals from dead-ball situations, third is sorted by dead-ball xG against.

1. Leipzig - 1
2. Hoffenheim, Augsburg, Leverkusen - 2
5. Gladbach, Frankfurt - 3
7. Bielefeld - 4
8. Wolfsburg, Koln - 5
10. Mainz, Freiburg, Hertha, Stuttgart, Bayern, Bremen, Union - 6
17. Dortmund - 9
18. Schalke - 12

1. Leipzig, Hoffenheim - 7%
3. Augsburg - 8%
4. Gladbach - 11%
5. Leverkusen, Frankfurt - 12%
7. Bielefeld, Mainz - 17%
9. Koln - 18%
10. Freiburg, Hertha - 21%
12. Stuttgart - 22%
13. Bayern, Bremen - 24%
15. Wolfsburg - 26%
16. Schalke - 27%
17. Union - 29%
18. Dortmund - 35%

1. Bayern - 2.41 dead-ball xGA
2. Leipzig - 2.87
3. Augsburg - 3.30
4. Koln - 3.66
5. Union - 3.69
6. Hoffenheim - 4.00
7. Frankfurt - 4.31
8. Stuttgart - 4.59
9. Wolfsburg - 4.82
10. Leverkusen - 4.96
11. Hertha - 5.11
12. Gladbach - 5.25
13. Bremen - 5.65
14. Freiburg - 5.74
15. Bielefeld - 6.08
16. Mainz - 6.09
17. Dortmund - 6.39
18. Schalke - 9.63

In short: Dortmund's set-piece defending is - quite literally - relegation-level
