I remember when a poor team a long while ago (IIRC it was Arminia Bielefeld) played against us, they purposely turned off the pitch heating system because it suited their tough playing style more and it worked for them because we didn't win.

Winter disappeared in Germany, Austria, Slovenia and Croatia. There's no snow as it used to be 10 years ago, especially 20-25 years ago and way back in time, 80's, 70's, 60's.

We literally had early and mid spring or late autumn in November, December, January, February and March. This has never happened what happened this time.

Last serious cold winter, frozen and full of snow we had here in 2010, 2011 and 2012 in Croatia. Nature is dry as hell in the last 9 years. To see rain is also something rare, especially during summer.

Is unfortunately also the same in New York where I'm from. When I was young we always had snow in winter, and a lot of it! Now it's much milder...

You’re excused for your ignorance since you live in a warmer country...
But not for what at least feels like another condescending remark directed at me...

It’s actually been mandatory since 2007 and the reason you still see snow is that they’re not radiators! I.e. in heavy snowfall they cannot keep up and/or clear the field of snow within minutes... Also, this creates a loophole, like MUTU rightfully pointed out!
So yeah, bottom line: unless it starts snowing heavily less than two hours or so before a match, playing all winter is not a problem...
