I think it's only the Premierleague though, other big leagues don't get that kind of money. It's all about the TV rights, they're sick in England. In Spain most of the TV money goes to Barca and Real but the rest of the clubs get almost none of the TV money. And in Italy it isn't great either from what I'm aware.

What's more insane is that in the United Kingdom, the the TV stations cannot broadcast Saturday afternoon matches.

They cannot even broadcast foreign football matches. Try to find a Saturday 15:30 Bundesliga match on a British station. IIRC the reason why the FA Cup final is broadcast at 18:00 and not earlier is because of this as well.

This is very discriminatory against sick and disabled people who cannot attend the matches or supporters living in the UK who cannot afford to travel or buy a ticket to a match. But, let's say that all the English supporters are able to attend the matches. Not everyone would still be able to attend a match because there is limited capacity.... #-o
