I have emailed him with an idea to interview him on behalf of our forum.

Christian Falk has told us it would be a pleasure for him to answer our questions! So, what do you want to ask him?

Here's mine:
  • Can you describe your typical day?
  • What is the best part of your job?
  • You must make a number of sacrifices in order to carry out your job. What are the downsides of being an FC Bayern reporter?
  • How often do you come across some really important news but for legal or other reasons you're unable to make them public?
  • Which exclusive news pieces you reported on are you most proud of?
  • Are you an FC Bayern fan?
  • Will FC Bayern win the treble?

I know it is to early, but who does he think will be our coach for 2018-2019? From what he has and what he thinks? Thanks.

My questions:

1.What risks do the journalists take in revealing a story? Are those risks worth it?
2.What do you like to read or watch in your free time?
3.How do you think that social media outlets like Facebook and Twitter have affected sports journalism?
4.What is one key event that changed your life in a positive or negative way?
5.What player’s poster did you have on your wall as a child?
6.You get 10 PK against Manuel Neuer. How many do you make?
7.Who you think will be Bayern's next coach?

Hahaha funny one. Depends on whether or not he takes them whilst Manu is out injured or not, I guess

As a journo, I'd have the following questions:

1. How many sources is your minimum before you decide to break a story?
2. How big is the pressure to break a story first?
3. Pure 100% objectivity in journalism is a myth, how often have you caught yourself getting personally invested in a story related to football?
4. Toughest or easiest player to work with? Anecdote without naming names? ;)
5. Are you ever truly "off", or are you always on the job?

Right, so far we have about 19 questions, but we'll need to present about 10 questions in all.

I didn't quite understand this question; could you please rephrase?

I mean, as a journalist I'm used to always being 'on the job'. When stuff happens on my day off, I need to get to the office asap to report. I always check the news, and I always keep in touch with my sources in case sth happens. I can imagine it's the same for him, but I wonder how often he truly gets a day 'away from the job', with football being a 24/7 thing these days. Does he ever take a day, where he does not check the news, does not get calls from colleagues, or does not check tweets, etc.

Does that make sense? :)

Oh ok. I understand but I'll probably have to leave that question out given I can only provide him with "about 10 questions" (this is what he told me) or else incorporate it into mine... something like "What are the best and worst parts of your job, and do you ever get a break?"

Followup with something like..
How did you become a bayern fan?
Have bayern already started targetting the players they want for next season? are there any big names?
Or moreover, what should we expect of the upcoming transfer window?

See..the 2nd question is the most necessary because that's a question which HE is the best suited to answer..and we ALL want to know at least something about the answer don't we?
Any details about this answer would be gold-dust..

These are not interview-type questions, prasun77. These types of questions are answered in articles he writes as soon as he has the information. He's not going to withhold precious transfer news just to reveal it in an interview with BayernForum, as much as I'd wish that'd happen

Even one word or some insight..at least about how the bayern transfers are working..would be lip-smacking..something which all of us would be excited to know.
We have nothing to lose on this one..but..on the other hand..
