U20 World Cup 2013

Postby brickwall281 » Sun Jun 30, 2013 12:05 pm

Hey guys. Is anyone watching the U20s World Cup? I'm particularly interested because Iraq topped their group in the WC which contains Chile, England and Egypt, so I'm very happy. Anyone else watching?

Afraid not. While I find it hilarious that England once again failed in a tournament, the U20 World Cup seems like just a plain useless tournament. The Spanish team has nowhere near the names they had at the U21 Euros.
The ideal team

I think I read somewhere that England have not won a single match in the last 5 editions of the U20 World Cup.

Too bad Chile didn't use the best of his squad, I still can't belive the coach put our top scorer in the bench!! we could have beaten iraq, but still Iraq played really really good. Now we must go to Bursa and play against croatia

Does anybody knows if Mateo Kovacic from inter is playing in the world cup?

Is that Trezeguet guy who made that gem of a goal related to the French one ? :) Or it might be a big coincidence since you already have Zidan :)

Assem by that point Egypt couldn't qualify. Chile and Iraq both had 4 points, Egypt had 0 and there was one match left to play

Ramsej: Egyptian players tend to have nicknames like the Brazilians do. Our #4 is called Kahraba, which means electricity. Trezeguet is another nickname
Brickwall: We would have qualified over Ghana in the best placed 3rd place team ranking. Ghana qualified because they scored one more goal....

Reminds me of the Brazilian Michel Platini.

It's pretty common here.
Kahraba, Gedo=Grandpa, Meteb=Tiring, Mido, Shikabala, Temsa7=Crocodile, Koka, Rabia, Trezeguet, etc. Egyptian players love their nicknames!
In similar news, our u20s were allegedly in a prostitution incident.

This basically says: They go to play in the World Cup, they pick up girls instead.
