Swiss police raid UEFA headquarters
Swiss police raided the headquarters of the European soccer body UEFA in Nyon yesterday to gather information about a contract signed by Gianni Infantino, now head of the global soccer body FIFA, that was reported in the Panama Papers.
The Swiss attorney-general’s (OAG) office said the search was part of “ongoing criminal proceedings” and had been launched because of “suspicion of criminal mismanagement and misappropriation.” [source]

FIFA needs disbanding and a new organization in its place.

And where's our guarantee that'll be any better? It may be a start, or even truly much better in the beginning, but the grease balls don't wash off easy.

lau03143 wrote:The problem is, the whole of football is corrupt no matter what anyone says.

Certainly all the corruption we've found is just scratching the surface, and surely big money will attract slimy hands to try to get a piece of it no matter what.

Updated - Footballer admits match fixing but is exempt from punishment because of cooperation with police
A 21-year-old football player charged with match fixing pleaded guilty in court today but the court exempted him from punishment because of his collaboration with the police.
Seyble Zammit faced a number of match fixing charges relating to the UEFA U-21 Championship Group One qualifiers. [source]

In Nepal => life-time imprisonment (one extreme)
In Malta => no punishment just for collaborating (another extreme)

It depends to what extent he cooperated. He might have helped reveal some big names in international match-fixing. To a certain extent I agree with not marking someone down as a criminal for something which, in my opinion, is not a big thing. Thanks to the internet his name will still be associated with match-fixing.

his father is known for his selling and fixing of games...
While his grandpa is a cowboy ... enough said

One of four men charged with aiding and abetting the bribery of two judges yesterday called on the Criminal Court to grant him bail, saying its failure to do so in the context of a favourable ruling given to another two co-defendants was discriminatory.
Joseph Zammit, better known as is-Sei, argued that the courts had the duty and the obligation to "reintegrate, reconstruct and reestablish the trust of the people in them" now that the judicial system had received a severe blow to their credibility. [source]

Match-fixing watchdogs smell a rat in Mosta - Pembroke game [source]

I am of the opinion that Mosta FC is the most corrupted football club in Malta. Have a look at their results... 6-3 4-2 4-3 etc etc
The team is coached by the father of that guy who tried to bribe our U21 NT vs Montenegro. This coach is also known that he during his playing time he used to be very active in such things...

Was Malta going to win something important if that didn't happen? Who cares about U-21... They probably earned more with that match fixing than if they went all the way...
