I'm looking forward to it. My wife is Peruvian, and I'm hoping Peru plays at least two of their group matches at Met Life Stadium here in New Jersey. There are tons of Peruvians here in northern NJ, and a lot of Ecuadorians too. Ecuador should get at least one group game here also.

CONMEBOL says the tournament will probably not take place, due to the US DOJ investigation. But even before reading that, I started doubting whether it would happen. Over 6 months ago, CONMEBOL/CONCACAF had a list of 25 US stadiums who were interested in hosting matches, and since then, nothing was decided at all. They made no plans or anything. Considering that the regular Copa Americas are set-up at least two or three years in advance, it would've been really hard to organize this one in just over one year.

And to be honest, another Copa America just one year after Chile 2015, and with the 2015 winner qualifying for the Confederations Cup and the 2016 not, the whole thing didn't make much sense to begin with.

I believe the venues have been chosen. I'll look for some more info.

Chicharito announces he will play at the Copa America Centenario

Expect to see a lot of Javier "Chicharito" Hernandez in the US this summer.

The Bayer Leverkusen forward plans to suit up for Mexico at the Copa América Centenario, he told the Los Angeles Times' Kevin Baxter this week.

Chicharito, like another superstar, Barcelona's Neymar, had the presumptive choice of playing in the Copa América Centenario, a special edition of South America's championship hosted in the US for the first time this year, or in the 2016 Rio Olympics. While the timing could allow for the players to play in both tournaments, each star was expected for combined club and personal reasons to choose one tournament or the other. Neymar will play in the Olympics for Brazil. =D> =D>

Yeah, Itallians are always doing things opposite. They say 'ciao' to greet you. Drives Spanish speakers nuts!
