The Chinese General Administration of Sport said on its website that action had to be taken against “irrational investment” and that the government would “regulate and restrain high-priced signings and make reasonable restrictions on players’ high incomes.”

One is related to politics, the other to sport? :P

I understand and acknowledge the racism card, but there are similar (if less extreme) situations around the world in football (and probably other sports). In Malta, for example, the lineup must have a majority of Maltese players (although this rule will be scrapped). I'm not sure whether the maximum on non-EU transfers is still in place around Europe.

It's a way of promoting the local talent rather than just importing and lining up 11 foreigners. I would argue that this is actually less racist than some other conditions used elsewhere. It doesn't diminish equal opportunity. A team is still allowed to have 23 foreigners and 0 Chinese players if they want to.

Fake or not, I think it's a fair proposal. Controversial though, definitely.

My mistake... It used to be less. But there's still a distinction

This is getting sick.
I just hope that the true footballers and the true men stay away from the Chinese dirty money.

I don't have a problem with the money being offered. It's the only way these leagues can compete or even hope to catch up with Europe.
It'll be a good long time (if every) until that happens.

Lazio received an offer from China for Felipe Anderson worth of 30M.
IMO they are able to ask for 20M more...

Diego Costa Chelsea future thrown into doubt
Earlier this month he was linked with a move to the Chinese Super League [source]

It was rumoured Tianjin Quanjian were prepared to bid £80million and Costa's future could be the main talking point of the winter transfer window, which closes on January 31.
Costa signed a five-year deal on his arrival from Atletico Madrid in July 2014 for £32m, so has two-and-a-half years to run.
Chelsea and owner Roman Abramovich would resist Costa agitating for a move.
