Bonucci: 'Buffon be like Neuer!' - Football Italia [source]

Explains Gigi's mood?

Huntelaar: 'Neuer is Germany's Beckenbauer' - Bundesliga [source]

Nowitzki: Neuer was magnificent in Brazil - FIFA [source]

Ballon d'Or: Forget Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi - the stars are backing Manuel Neuer - Telegraph [source]

Looks like Ronaldo's going to show up with the entire entourage ... that doesn't bode well.

Magath

"You would vote for Neuer as World Footballer then?"

"Absolutely. It must not be that it only counts whether someone holds out a foot at the right time to score a goal."

I really don't get the point of all these messages of support lately as if it is going to change something.

It's either a marketing ploy to get people to watch the ceremony, or they're preparing people for the news that the unthinkable has happened. If it's true that Ronaldo is going to show up with his entire entourage, I think it's most likely the former. Like that FIFA tweet mentioned in the Telegraph article with the name-plates. Though I haven't forgotten that AS reporter a while back who claimed that FIFA has tried to skew the vote against Ronaldo.

If Ronaldo wins, both Madrid and ManU fans will gloat. If he loses, they'll claim FIFA campaigned against their golden boy.

Only a couple of days and we'll find out.

To be fair, last year we claimed FIFA campaigned against our golden boy too. Whatever happens, a group of people who disagree with the result are definitely going to come out with bitter claims, such as corruption/politics.

By the way, what happens in the remote case of a tie for the top spot? That would be interesting.

Ronaldo: I wish Mr.Blatter health and a long life, with the certainty that he'll continue to witness the successes of his favourite teams and players

Next thing you know, vote extension and BD'OR for him... instead of a fine or ban.

It can't ever be the same case.

Neuer can win it this year, it won't restore my faith in that organization like it instantly did to CR7 last year, forgetting all the trash he addressed to FIFA before that.
FIFA is OK as long as they give him awards, but when they don't something is wrong.
I wouldn't be surprised if after that scandalous decision last year Blatter received a letter with some 'compliments' from our board as well.

First tiebreaker: The one with the most first place (5 points) votes.
Second tiebreaker: The one with the most second place (3 points) votes.

If it's still a tie, we will have two world players of the year.
Super Bayern! Super Bayern! Hey! Hey!
