Ribéry is still a bit upset over the Ballon d'or. [source]

The Frenchman has again voiced his dismay with the outcome of the prestigious individual award in recent years and is ready to boycott the ceremony

Boycotts are only useful when a group of people do it. If he's the only one boycotting this, unfortunately people will view him as sour grapes.

If he was the only one to think that FIFA is doing it wrong... even CR7 accused them, who has no reason whatsoever for that.

But it IS sour grapes. Could you imagine him not accepting the award had they awarded it to him? THAT would be boycotting, going up on stage and saying on the microphone that the award is bogus and walking off without taking the trophy. But had he won it, I'm sure he wouldn't have done so.

I would pay to see that scene. :P

He wouldn't have done so because he deserved to win... If there's a guy from Bayern that would do it, that's Frank... they won't nominate ever someone who threatens them with boycott.
He's doing a favor to his teammates, letting know FIFA that we know the hard way too.

Ribs was never 'pampered' by these organizations... 3 match ban in 2010, missed the CL final while others are given amnesty. Then they want to force him play for France...
FIFA threatened Bayern with sanctions if they don't let Ribs go to RM, trust me if he ended there he'd have had a different treatment today.
What surprises me is that he didn't get punished for slapping Carvajal... that's Ribs, he simply doesn't give a damn.

I dunno, I can imagine Robben doing it more. Ribery cares too much about this award.
Super Bayern! Super Bayern! Hey! Hey!

Robben praises that award even if he wasn't nominated ever... Ribs is the anarchist.
