Ballack left because he felt that our board is not investing in building a strong team for CL honors...and that is the main reason he left us for Chelsea who were one of top 3 clubs at that time.
And we were out of top 10 if you ask me.

That is also a reason why Neuer [lifetime fan of Schalke] left Schalke and joined us...because now we are arguably one of top 3 teams in the world.

But those statements Shaq made were really stupid...It is not like he signed for Stuttgart so he can say that...he signed for Bayern.
It would be like singing for Man Utd and saying "one day I want to play for Barcelona"...after Barca made their lifes miserable in the last few years.

He really is that stupid or he is just to straightforward :)

If u're top 3 it's not necessary that u'll reach the final. U may get eliminated in the semis

Who is really better than us?...Barcelona and Real Madrid have more chances of beating us and would probably win 3 games out of 5...

Who else??...Man Utd, City, Chelsea, AC Milan, Inter? I dont see this teams as favorites...I think we would manage to beat those teams when the time comes.

We got lucky that Man City has no experience, and that their primary focus was, and is the PL title. They could have been 2nd, and could have posed serious problems. Man U as well.

Chelsea isnt a problem. Arsenal isnt. AC Milan could go either way.

We lost to shittier teams in the BL this year.

Barcelona also lost against Osasuna...but that doesnt mean they wont trash Chelsea or Milan if they meet in CL:)

Barca and Real have more chances in CL because they are playing in the shitiest league in world , the Table of La liga is a joke honestly , now we know that Real Madrid won the league so both Barca and Real will focus on CL also they can still manage to be 1st and 2nd by using their bench players so must of their key players remain fit for Midweek matches .
Back to Shaqiri he said before that the half of europe wanted to sign and now he made a hint that Bayern is a pitstop in his career like Barca will dominate forever ...
Anw he's still a kid and i'm sure that when he moves to Bayern he will change his mind ...

You see... Because we have signed a 4-year contract extension with him, in 3 years, he'll be in the last year of his contract... So he can not be sold for 50M or so....
:P

Kidding apart... In 3 years he should develop into a real WC player, a main star for us... Whereas some of our current superstars, i.e., Robben and Ribery will start a decline in quality by then.... So I doubt if we'll sell ShaQ by then....

Bring in Oliver Kahn!
We need that kind of mentality in our club, in the team...

Pretty f*cking stupid, considering the ink is still wet from him signing with Bayern.
I can't imagine Uli enjoyed hearing that from his new $20m investment.

Very good piece on the Shaqiri transfer. Again, SI's Honigstein writing is top notch.
