I think this season, and the one before, has taught us that we do need a third striker in our roster to rotate with Lewa and Muller. A player like Werner would be a great option, and WILL have a lot of playing times due to the usually "normal" Lewandowki and Muller goal droughts.

For his own good he should stay away from Munich.

Are we going to resume our pathetic strategy of weakening the most serious opponents?

ramsej is right... he has more reasons not to come than to come... I wouldn't take Kimmich as a positive example yet cause he's been played everywhere bar his original position, that's not exactly fully trusting in the player. He's getting a lengthier Rode treatment and you know how Rode finished? I don't want that end for Kimmich. Kimmich could be our Weigl if the manager had the guts.

Timo Werner

Postby PunkCapitalist » Wed Nov 30, 2016 5:27 pm

I was not arguing for us to get Werner. Id like it if we leave RBL alone tbh. But if he develops into a top CF its almost inevitable that he will come our way. I was just pointing out that blanket statements are not right. It depends on te particular player.

Also, I dont like Kimmich in MF at all, i have faith that he will settle in RB 8)

We won't get anyone from the Energy Drinks...they don't need to sell, so they won't sell.

Their 4-2-2-2 and game structure makes me think about how their players can exist in our game structure.also considering some of their players are overperformings thanks to this structure. this is why l'm not fully convinced about their players except Keita.

Werner is good but it would be better for him to develop first and then come to replace Lewandowski as starter in 2019 or 2020.

It all depends on his mentality not nationality. If a player thinks that he has reached his goal when joing Bayern then he is doomed. But if you knows joining Bayern is just the beginning of his journey and can handle the pressure then he might be successful.

He could help us compete with the Spanish and Italians in the "dark arts" (conning officials) when we play them. Hope he makes a career out of it for the NT. It's kind of what they need, unfortunately.

RB Leipzig join the chase for Celtic striker Moussa Dembele as the free-spending Germans hope to lure him with the promise of first team football [source]

Braced for the likely loss of top scorer Timo Werner to Bayern, who have the financial might to gather up virtually any promising talent in their own back yard, Leipzig sporting director Ralf Rangnick has identified 20-year-old Dembele as a likely replacement.

Bayern holds new Lewandowski

This Thursday, the Corriere dello Sport publishes an article about the young scorers who will animate the next mercatos. Among them, the Nice striker Alassane Plea, followed in the Premier League, but especially two "heirs": "the new Zlatan", Kasper Dolberg (Ajax) for who will compete Juventus and Naples, but also "new Lewandowski" Timo Werner (Leipzig). On his subject, the Italian daily is categorical: "His fate is already sealed, he will join Bayern Munich. Carlo Ancelotti wants him next year in Bayern, to make him grow alongside Lewandowski, of which he is the designated heir.

It was Stuttgart and their bad club management that has kept Werner so long out of the big spotlights, but right now he's been showing some nice things at RB Leipzig what I saw in him 4 years ago. However, I see him as a ST at Bayern, certainly not as a winger.
