Exactly, he was forced on the wing while he was in Stuttgart, but last season and right now he's been awesome on a striker position. Germany desperately need #9 because so many years they've lacked a truly great striker who can guarantee goals in every match. I hope Werner will continue in this way at Leipzig and perhaps one day join Bayern and replace Lewandowski.

There was also too much pressure in Stuttgart. He was 19 and Zorniger the old dromedary basically made him responsible for Stuttgart being in a relegation struggle.

Can't see tweet? Click here!
The local press says they're making him a Red Bull promotion star. His agent was in Leipzig yesterday.

Might be something akin to the Puma-deal BVB made with Reus. Local Leipzig paper speculates that they'll announce a contract extension ahead of their home game vs Frankfurt.

Uh-oh. They are trying to package him as something BIG. With the energy drink's money I don't see Bayern/RM being able to pull him from Leipzig in the next few years. Clearly if RB needs (to create) their first club legend, it's Timo Werner.

So his biggest achievement as football player will be as the poster-guy for FIFA2020? 8)

Let’s hope it’s nothing too serious and he gets alright soon.

Does anyone know how's his 'circulatory failure' thing going? sounds pretty worrying.

We should buy him and then loan him back to Leipzig for a season or two.

If they are still after him, that means he is likely to be ok. Thank God. But they better do a thorough check just to eliminate risks.

Has been nominated for the WC qualifiers. Has been examined in Leipzig for three days, doctors found nothing wrong with him.

Surprised nobody has posted it here, but the story going around was that the crazy atmosphere messed with him.

Apparently he asked for some earplugs to help deal with the noise and later complained of 'circulatory problems' and dizziness and asked to be removed. Here's the word from Hasenhüttl:

“He asked to come off so I took him off. It is impossible to prepare your team for an atmosphere like this. There was a deafening noise; at the start of the game we were a bit affected.”

“For me, as coach, it is important to see who I can rely on in moments like these, who is prepared to defend himself against what is going on on the pitch....but to encounter such an atmosphere was too much for some.”

Kind of crazy to get overwhelmed like that. Only encourages those fans to keep up that noise.

Yes, lemme be clear I'm not offering any judgements on Werner or his decision to ask out of the game (many around the web are calling him 'soft' or 'weak' or things like that - it's not my business to make that sort of call), just presenting the information as I've heard/understood it....
