So apparently Barca's sport director said it's impossible to sign him. If that's the case it's not just some trash talk by Cadena Ser but the truth.

Anyone knows when his contract ends?(2019?) & how much he earns?
If it is 2019 the board should sit down with him and offer him a huge increase now that both Lahm and Alonso are ending their careers.
Plus in a year time Robbery might do the same

It's kinda indifferent, in regards to contract, wether he stays fit or not. If he doesn't stay fit, the club only has to play a certain amount of time (and he is probably insured etc). Extend him now at all costs.

Would be silly IMO. We are not short on cash. Better to take the risk and extend ASAP. Rather extend him now and have him suffer more injuries than potentially see him go elsewhere and maintain form. Reward outweighs the risk for us right now.

It all depends on his opinion of his current deal. If he's happy (and he should be, considering the amount of time he spent out) then there's no rush.

I agree about an extension. We can't take the risk of losing him. Thiago is way too good, he proved me wrong this year. I can only hope for a treble now.

Whichever our opinions are, he's due in for talks very soon according to Munich local media. Barcelona's Sporting director just said he was a very interesting option but it was literally impossible to get him. Seems Bayern knows what they have.

Thiago Alcántara has no intention of returning to Barcelona next season, according to claims from Cadena SER and Mundo Deportivo. Both media outlets have refuted rumours which have been doing the rounds for the past few weeks suggesting that the midfielder could quit Bayern Munich and return to Camp Nou for the 2017/18 campaign.

The Spain internation is happy with his current situation in Munich where he is an undisputed first choice in the team and a key figure for one of Europe's top outfits. He feels valued in Germany, a welcome change from what he experienced during his time at Barcelona..

Barça sold Thiago in the summer of 2013 and the player left feeling a little neglected after having not enjoyed as much playing time as he would have liked. Now his intention is to renew his contract with Bayern Munich for a further two seasons, to effectively commit to Carlo Ancelotti's team until 2021.
