Selling Vidal and Thiago in one window would be suicide on our midfield.

Point still stands.

Any club worth their money would be daft to sell two of their starting midfielders in the same window.

This is from the Lewandowski transfer thread.

Ziklitschli wrote:That article is complete BS. Bayern is getting scarier week by week and all the coaches fear Jupp. It looks like a little effort to unsettle one of the main threats, a team on the raise.
. . .

^ Agreed with this sentiment 100%. The English and Spanish media are doing their best to undermine Bayern and unsettle our players. As long as the club and the players don’t pay attention to this gibberish, we should be alright.

Haha, I agree. I was being sarcastic - Meyer is a marked downgrade from either.

No question that from the sporting point of view it is a valid statement: both Vidal and Thiago, based on quality, are starters. But there is another angle to look at this from the business point of view:

Vidal: He will 31 years old before the end of this season with a declining market value of 35-40 M. Will Arturo be starter in 2 or 3 years? What will be his market value at 33 or 34? This is the time to cash him out.
Thiago: more and more looks like Owen Hargreaves. For those who like numbers: Thiago has started just 10 games out of 32 this season and his overall numbers during his 5 seasons at Bayern don't look much better: just 100 starts in 236 games or 42% of the games.

Selling is not a bad thing under certain circumstances:
1)Selling the player we want to sell and cash in(for example D.Costa)
2)Get proper replacement, equal or better(for example Schweini-Vidal, Gomez-Lewy)

So depends on how you see it about Vidal & Thiago, if we can cash in more than €100m combined and their successors are -free- Goretzka & Milinkovic-Savic/Verratti/Koke/Weigl for example I could live with it and wait for the results. One's case(Vidal) is now or never because of his age after that you can't earn serious money from him and the latter(Thiago) being a huge injury prone and he seems to hit his ceiling already but still can bring a record sale fee to the club to invest in somebody else with better potential.

One thing is for sure, our midfield needs and will get some fixes.

This morning I was reading the match day mag and noticed that Thiago only managed 86 BuLi matches...
Coman already totaled some 60+

I am becoming more skeptical about Thiago ... and I am saying this with a sad heart.

His brother is hoping to complete the escape for Barca this summer, I do not think he want go back (at least not if Inter sign permanently his brother)

That's ok. He'll break the Neymar record.
