Not nearly 21 though, both together didn't even cost half of Gnabry, and they were not rejects, but still spending 2 or more years in our YA before starting professional careers

I don't think his statement is necessarily true (nor do I appreciate Gnabry and his transfer!) - but please do not compare some reject who never even played a single game for us with our legebds and youth academy players...

Is there a clause that allows us to recall him from loan if the Ribery injury is bad?

We don't need Gnabry. Playing wingerless is 100x better than putting mediocre players in there. Besides, if we absolutely MUST put a dribbling LW, Coman is much better than Gnabry anyway.

... providing Robben is fit on the other side.

I think Müller should start over Robben on the other side, and leave the center to James so...

Ok
Bayern 3-3-3-1 build-up under Heynckes :
Neuer - Boateng Hummels Thiago - Kimmich Vidal Alaba - Robben Müller James - Lewandowski
Neuer- Boateng Vidal Hummels- Kimmich Martinez Alaba- Robben James Ribéry- Lewandowski

we were lacking a player who can play both winger and striker even before Ribery's injury. if it's really bad, we need at least a Gnabry level player there for depth.

Both James and Müller are rotation players for other positions. so they have nothing to do with a LW back up.
