Well, last year in CL Tottenham couldn't beat Leverkusen... they had a draw and a loss home to Leverkusen. And Leverkusen finished mid-table last year, while Tottenham were second placed in PL...

Further, right now I'd put money on half the teams in the BL vs Arsenal

BL had the momentum to become the best league 3 years ago but we've been going downhill since then.
QFT. I endorse 100% of this post.

BuLi had momentum a few years back, but every club screwed it up. We did with Guardiola. BVB did in their Mhkitaryan/Hummels/Gundogan summer. Leverkusen and Schalke are just sh!t regardless of them having very nice squads a few seasons back. Wolfsburg screwed in the KDB/Draxler afair, which sent their whole project to the toilet and suddenly every decent player wanted to leave.

RBL is probably Bayern's only hope for competition, but it's not looking good with the Keita move a seemingly done deal and the Forsberg attempt too.

As sad as it may be, the EPL players and coaches quality has gone much much higher, while BuLi has been and continues to bless talent.

Forget Leverkusen. Tottenham has been eliminated in Europe in recent years by the likes of Gent and Basel. They have everything to prove in continental competition.

BVB is getting there though. Their finances and status around Europe is solidly among the top 10, if not better, right now. But it shows that you need multiple cycles of reshaping the team to become a top club because top players will continue to leave for the very few clubs among them. The collapse of Wolfsburg shows how difficult this is to achieve.

However Germany has been very much like this for years, even when the league overcame the Serie A and then the Premier League in the UEFA rankings. There were always a number of teams who contributed towards the accumulation with them often being replaced in the next season. In the late 2000s it was Werder Bremen with their Europa League run that contributed towards the coefficient only for them to collapse after the Diego and Ozil deals. Hannover actually had a couple of very solid runs at the beginning of this decade. And Schalke's 2011 team was also quite different to the 2014-16 teams that also were quite competent.

This has been a constant problem and without foreign intervention it will be difficult for other clubs to achieve the consistency that some might want in order to constantly compare the top teams. However there is also the assurance that as old clubs fall some others rise to compete and perform well. Hoffenheim vastly overachieved last year to achieve 4th spot. They are most likely not Germany's 4th best team right so them doing well against England's 4th team was always going to be difficult.

Seems like this is a half possibility. Reading rumours about Swansea and Bayern agreeing to terminate the loan contract and Sanches returning on loan to Benfica.

We should not give Benfica a buy option unless it is the same amount as what they gave us.

Sanches is set to return to Bayern in January. Only the last few details are still missing.
Worth noting that the player will spend the rest of the season at Bayern as he can't play for 3 clubs in the same season.

Lets give him a chance under Jupp. This will open the door for Vidal and i think that he can play for different club from the winter break.

There is no room for Sanches in our current squad...if he comes back to Bavaria I'd suggest he joins the Amateure. That way he'll play with kids his age, he gets to rebuild his confidence outside of the headlines, and he learns the German language and culture. He could train with the first time from time to time...maybe be in the squad for some games, but play for the Amateure mostly...just to get a feeling for German football again, and to give him minutes.
She’s beauty, she’s grace, if u tell her she only watches football for the attractive players she’ll punch u in the face.

So, I checked and according to "Regulations on the Status and Transfer of Players" article 5.3 it does say that a player can be registered with three clubs but can only play in "official" matches with two clubs.

I would assume that the ICC and Audi cup matches aren't considered "official" matches. But Sanches played 6 minutes in the DFL-Supercup, which I would think counts as "official". So it does seem correct that he'd be unable to play for Benfica this season.

He should have been playing for the Amateure from the beginning. There was no way a kid who had just turned 19, no matter how talented, was going to break into a squad as talented as ours playing CM, a position that requires an incredible degree of consistency. Muller and Badstuber, the only two of recent talents that came out of our academy to break into the team without getting loaned, only became regular starters on a team which was much worse in quality than the current one at the ages of 19 and 11 months and 20 and 5 months respectively.

Jupp Heynckes on Renato Sanches: "There were no talks to bring him back. We are well stocked in midfield. I don't think we need more"

Sweet!!!
We do not want him, Swansea does not want him and with his recent performances and critics ratings, I doubt any decent club would want him.
