Would've been nice if he'd worked on making Sanches a Bayern Munich fan.

Any deals rather than 1 year loan with obligation or Milan's overpaying for him, doesn't make sense for us. if we make 2 year loan with obligation, the money's value will drop because of the inflation on the market after 2 years.

1 year loan with obligation for over 45 m euros looks logical for us. if we can add D.Costa money as well, we can finance Brandt, a RB and a big name with some additional funds for mercato.

I just numberd on transfermarkt, and if we sell Renato Sanches we remain with just 21 senior players, goalkeepers included. I know we have Rudy and Tolliso, alongside Thiago and Vidal, but we need another man here. My question is. If we sell Renato, do you think that we will buy another player?

in case of signing Goretzka, yes, otherwise nope. also considering no logic in signing another rotation player.

I think the problems that we've had with Reneto Sanches stem less from any problem with his talent than with his high profile. He joined our squad having just turned 19, yet was expected to immediately perform at a first team level due to his price. For comparison, Thomas Muller made his breakthrough as a first team starter at the age of 19 and 11 months having just 28 minutes on the first team the 2007/08 season(although to be fair the degree Klinsmann sucked probably had a lot do with that), and he was massively helped because he was van Gaal's favorite, because the team was much worse back then, and because he was very good for his age.

Kroos is probably the best single midfielder in the world right now, but even he took a while to get into this team. He was about 18 and 8 months old(and trust me, months make a big difference at this age) at the start of the 2008/09 season. He managed just 285 minutes of playing time the first half of that season before being loaned to Neverkusen, where he stayed through the end of the 2009/10 season before becoming a regular player upon his return, and automatic starter upon Jupp's arrival in 2011/12.

Judging from these examples, the best thing for Sanches' development would have been giving him a season with the reserves where he could learn more of the basics of positional play upon his arrival, with occasional minutes with the first team, before loaning him for a year to another Bundesliga club. On his return, he could have become a squad player and then a regular starter. That is the path that we would use with an academy player. However, this is where the 35 million euro transfer fee and Sanches' high profile got in the way. We couldn't give him a season with the reserves because things were expected of him, and because he expected things of himself.

Thus, I'm not willing to give up on him yet. He needs more time, preferably on a loan with no buy option. We lost Hummels because we weren't willing to give him time to prove himself, and only got him back very recently. I don't want to make the same mistake.

I agree 100% with you Manchu. The only thing I'm worried about is his lack of football knowledge. He often looks like he's out of position and lacks the basic understanding of the game. Of course that's very common in his age range, but it's very obvious with Renato. Give him this season at a medium level club (first option would be in the Bundesliga) and then take a decision next summer. His value won't drop much if he has a decent season on loan. There's always a market for a young AM that he his resume. And he's contracted until 2021.

He did not even seem motivated to impress his prospective new employers today. I totally expected him to run on the pitch like a madman and throw himself into every tackle when he was coming on. Really disappointing to see his nonchalance.

He was poor today. But then again almost every Bayern player was poor in today's game.

Yes everyone was poor, but what worried me was that he wasn't even trying hard.
