Some Spanish websites published that Bayern had asked Real Madrid for Pepe. They don't seem very reliable though

You are right but it didn't deserve a research.

According to reports from Spain, FC Bayern are after Real Madrid's central defender Képler Laveran Lima Ferreira, better known as Pepe.

The 28 year old Portuguese international, who previously played for Porto and shouldn't need much introduction, has played 95 La Liga matches since 2007, scoring 3 goals.

He is a very good defender and plays well as a defensive midfielder too, but I believe his attitude doesn't suit Bayern's style, not even Real Madrid's style.
As for the reports, I believe journalists from Spain didn't have anything else to write...

I think a character of his would benefit the team. Many times this season Bayern were losing and barely attempted to level the score, and I think a character like Pepe's would give the team the aggressiveness and never-say-die attitude that they need.

Bayern isn't exactly known for buying idiots. And Pepe sure is a big one.

Madrid went to hell and earth to renew Pepe; his picture covered all over Spanish football media. I am really incredulous he is to be let go unless there is something going on under the table.

Pepe is a Top 3 CB right now, so I doubt he is going to leave Madrid.

He is not TOP 3. Vidic,Kompany & Thiago Silva are better. But he is young & he is Very Good CB. Madrid will never sell him especially with Mourinho,they will have to sell him over Mourinho's dead body

Who cares if he is top 3 or not? He is better than the CBs we have so there is no point arguing over it.

I said he is a great CB. Lets not get emotional. Wether he is a scumbag or not Madrid are not selling him. Nobody makes such stupid decisions based one emotion in football. THe hocus pocus will die down. He will bench anyone at Bayern(any CB'). But along with Madrid not selling him he will command a price tag of 30-35 Million which will be a World Record(2nd biggest ever for a Defender)
