Ousmane Dembélé: football’s hottest property, if you can convince his mother. The 18-year-old has attracted the attention of the world’s biggest clubs, smashed Ligue 1 records and Mikaël Silvestre thinks he can win the Ballon d’Or. His feet, however, remain firmly on the ground [source]

according to Bild, the reasons the transfer didn't happen were:

- exorbitant wage demands
- doubts about Gündogan's ability to perform at the highest level by KARL-HEINZ RUMMENIGGE AND PEP GUARDIOLA, while Matthias Sammer and Michael Reschke were favouring a signing

Transfers are a consensus decision, if you think Pep is the only one to say whether a transfer happens or not, you're living in a dream world.
Just like it's the case here, do you think everybody in Bayern's board has the same opinion and just Guardiola is the only one spoiling the fun? You probably do...

I come to this page, ignore the quoted part and start reading up to the first point, and think "oh shit, we didn't land Dembélé", until I realised we're talking about a player who is much older, of a different nationality and who plays in a completely different position. Please guys, try to make an effort to stick to topic.

He's been referred to as a striker by the media, not as a winger. Anybody actually watches him play?

For Pep all of our 7 attacking players are strikers.

BUT: should we get him, he would not be his coach... ;)

I think he's versatile on offense, but he's great on the wings... Only seen him like 3 times though...

But I just realized France have amazing talent on the wings: Coman, Martial, Dembélé... MAybe German youth academies should start looking there to make up for our weak spots...
Someone, fire that Italian **** already! I don't care who, I don't care how much it costs or who'll be the next coach - just make sure he's gone and he stays gone!!!

I havent seen him, but media said the same about Coman too....

technically he played striker for Juve, but he often drifted wide and everyone knew his future was playing out wide

I'm assuming it may be the same for this kid

I think i'll leave that joke unsaid. :D

To be honest, tough, I'd still be really surprised if he came here. Bayern usually goes for the less popular guys, so as good as he is, I'm not holding my breath for this transfer...

We've had popular guys before, as long as they were not massively overpriced already... Just that we barely developed them to become great players... Santa Cruz, dosSantos, Kurt... And so on...

As a french, I can tell you than "Le 10 Sport" is worst than Dailymail and Sun.

For the player, I think he has a fabulous potential, he seems to be less good in 1v1 than Coman but way better in front of the goal.
For good football : Neuer - Kimmich, Boateng, Hummels, Alaba - Vidal (Tolisso), Thiago (Rudy) - Robben, Müller (James), James (Ribéry) - Lewandowski

For boring football : 4-3-3
