But of course it could be interpreted as going on strike can be effectful for players. I just don't think this is the case here.

If that ends with BVB getting 150m each time, I'm sure they don't mind.

The unconfirmed fee for Dembele seems to be €150m (120+30). Five year deal. Could have gone for €12 a year ago.Great work for Dortmund, bad day for Bundesliga for losing the most talanted young player in the World.

But still,nothing official.

It's a bit of a disaster for BVB though. They don't have time to reinvest that money this window.

Thing is, they don't really need to get a replacement.

You really think so? They need all the firepower they can get to get out of that CL group and challenge us in the Bundesliga.

The replacements they're supposedly targeting are laughable....

I actually think Dembele is a touch overrated at the moment - his body is WAY ahead of his brain. Needs to mature a lot still. That being said, if we look back on last season, I think there's probably close to a dozen games that they don't win without some Dembele magic. They have some quality players, but that loss is gonna hurt more than a lot are expecting IMO

I'm not really laughfing about ANY Dortmund target. Even the bad ones are better targets than most.

BVB's frontline is well covered with some combination of Götze, Schurrle, Mor, Pulisic and Aubameyang; and yet it is a shame that the BuLi lost probably the next big thing.

Of course its a shame the BuLi lost a great talent, but hes not a finished product yet, and its not a given he will become the next Messi.

Second, this might be the transfer tvat lifts BVB up a level, so that next time (cough...Pulisic) they can say:
Well we dont need the money...! ...and offer better wages in the long term...

How? Its not like Dembele was a hidden gem unearthed playing in tier 2 Scotland. There was a host of teams interested in him including us. He chose for sporting reasons to go to Dortmund and as a stepping stone for his career.

On the contrary, Bayern made a bid for a player who's market value rose ten-fold in one season.

Local Dortmund reporters saying of the add-ons, 30m are "practically certain". Category: If the player ties his shoe-laces correctly.
