I think we are worrying to much on other teams...

Only indirectly. I am only worrying about these high transfer figures and how we risk falling well behind the teams spending a lot of money.

If it was 120m, Barcelona would have paid it already

We'll see if that's true in a matter of hours. BVB being a stock-listed corporation does have its advantages.

I'm not buying it. They offered 89m fix for Couthino. That was their limit, they've now backed off. Can't see them offering 120 or 130m for Dembele. Don't believe it until I hear something from Dortmund, either the club or Ruhrnachrichten.

Watzke told Kicker that Barcelona have made a "slightly improved" offer for Dembele. The original offer was 80m plus 25m in add-ons. The improved offer changes nothing in Dortmund's stance. They say there's no room for negotiations. The asking price is now cited as 140m (no information if all of that is fixed fee, or it's the earlier reported 120m fix plus add-ons). Barcelona has until the weekend to accept that fee, or leave it.

Take it "slightly improved" means something around 90m, otherwise the BVB would have to inform the shareholders. Still can't see Barcelona coming around and paying what they ask for in the next two or three days.

The article is in the print edition of Kicker, I'm quoting from an excerpt on the German website Sport.

Yeah, seems to be the case.

It's a bit of a disaster for BVB though. They don't have time to reinvest that money this window.

First, I would assume they already have a replacement lined up that will come in next week.

Second, I actually think BVB are well covered in attacking positions and can cope without Dembele (more or less)...but maybe they should just hang on to Mor for now...

Thing is, they don't really need to get a replacement.

Even if they had time, they would probably invest that money in signing several young players as they did last season and then restart the cycle again IMO. I'm also of the opinion that they don't necessarily need a replacement for him, they have Pulisic and Gotze is back.

They got rid of a player who didn't want to stay and was publicly criticized by his teammates due to his attitude and got a lot of money for him (150 million).
The only issue is that other players might take this as an example and I wouldn't be surprised if more and more players went on strike like him to force a move from now on.

I dont agree with that.
BvB only sold because they got a s*#load of money for him.
Im having the impression that they would actually have held their ground on Dembele if Barca hadn't met the asking price.

They can do a lot with that money!
Contract extensions. (E.g. Pulisic, Auba, Reus)
New young talents (who are getting more and more expensive)
