Must read article on Giroud:

http://www.goal.com/de/news/3642/editor ... r-perfekte

They are saying he is the perfect partner for Gomez as he falls back to midfield to help in the build up play and can shoot from distance. He has 7 assists so far this season.

I think the player is worth it, if Bayern see this deal through to the end. Bayern are very cautious in great talent who might not amount to anything guaranteed especially if the transfer demands are beyond a certain "risk" amount.

If Giroud is the 'bomb striker' I would be very happy. I believe he is just right popularity wise to play on the bench or in rotation with Gomez. He also has the technical skill set required to play in the hole or as an assisting striker. Everytime I have seen him play he has impressed me he reminds me of an under-developed Van Persie.

Pizzaro/Guidetti are much much more inferior selections for our striker position.

I would much rather get the young backup striker/forward that we could have in Giroud. We are solid in mid-field.

Thoughts?

But where would he play in our formation, if we're looking for a back-up striker, then I say we sign Drogba. But if JH is making adjustment to our system that will occasionally allow 2 striker, then I say why not..

Giroud's agent: "Bayern now have to step on the gas and make a concrete offer."

He also said that he is not scared of the bench and that "he will accept any competitor."

We have the money...I say that we ink him in ASAP!

...and we might as well get his partner in crime Younes Belhanda too!

Great attitude of no fear of any competitor -- will force good competition. I hope we actually make this happen.

I want him even more now. I am very confident that he might even be able to bench Gomez when Gomez is in bad form.

I think he is a striker of perfect caliber for Bayern. He's not an expensive top name, but he has enough quality to adequately replace Gomez.
