Seems like Giroud got himself a new nickname.

Giroud seems to be getting a lot of attention and he also seems to have indicated that he wants to play in Seria A.

Seems like Bayern is getting serious about Giroud.

Supposedly Nerlinger had a meeting Giroud's agent Uli Ferber and seems like agent has said that : " we are on the right track"

We're interested in him. Heynckes didn't deny that and Giroud is flattered.

From the few times I've seen him, he seems deadly enough upfront to play for us.

Personally, I'd prefer a more technical dribbler-type of striker than Giroud to complement Gomez. I haven't seen Giroud play much, but from what I read his technical abilities aren't too much better than Gomez's. I'd rather an Elber style of player, who's confident in taking on his opponent and dribbling past him with ease.

Has anyone seen him play oftenly and can comment better on his dribbling skills?

I want this Frenchman in our team. He is one rising star, very good with a ball, fast, tall... I would support this transfer. My wish is very unrealistic(Cavani), but I don't have anything against Giroud. Frech were always great players in our kits, specially when had at the same time 2-3 guys. Ribery would be happy.

Very good point. With van Buyten's time left at Bayern running short, we need someone to keep Ribery happy. Ribéry's performances are highly dependent on how much fun he is having.

"We are on track", told Kicker Uli Ferber, the player's agent, after an interview with Christian Nerlinger, the Munich club's sporting director.

Seems like we have a second striker on route. I wonder what the future holds for Petersent and Olic.
God, are you there? Shut up son, Gómez is scoring!

Our transfer target Olivier Giroud may have... how shall I put it... homosexual tendencies 8)

... yet Ribery wants him

"Olivier is doing very well. He is a great striker with good heading ability, a strong left foot. He's a good guy - sure he could play in a big club," Bild.

And according to tz, he may well cost just 10 million euros

IMPORTANT: The generic transfer thread has a whole page full of posts I had to manually move from this thread. Please ONLY discuss Giroud here. If you want to mention more than one player, please use the generic transfer thread.

He looks like a cheaper version of Edin Dzeko. I could be wrong though

If he is as good and costs 10 million, we should go for him.

Another Bayern screw up where we wait too long?? I am sick of Bayern dragging their heels and all the rumours flying about good players. Its like our scouting department does all the work, the rumours come out, and teams who use Bayern to "Scout" for them just snap up these players. Yet, in the end we sign mediocre players. Is this a problem of Nerlinger? the board? the coach? Bayern need to seal the deal on this player, a good up and coming star!! Now is the time.
