Neymar should show some real balls, take the €300m from Qatar, be the ambassador for the 2020 World Cup but remain at Barcelona. I wonder what PSG would be able to do about that without implicating themselves in FFP.
Neymar should take the 300m, become a free agent, and sign for Monaco :'D

MUTU wrote:What I heard about Neymar is that some Qatar company will pay Neymar some €300m in order for him to be able to pay the transfer release clause from his personal money. The excuse is that he will be an ambassador for the 2020 World Cup. In return, he will become a free agent (since he'd pay his release clause from his own money) and consequently sign on a free transfer to PSG. On the books, it will show that PSG paid €0 to Barcelona for Neymar, whereas Barcelona received €220m.

Long live FFP

If this actually happens then it's an absolute disgrace and a punch to every football fan face! Disgusting scenario.

So they are planning to buy Neymar, Alexis and Coutinho? How would they even line up when they already have Draxler, Cavani and Di Maria

Why does he want to leave Barcelona? Because of the tax case?

They'd put Draxler on the bench where he belongs

I don't have access to the full article but Barca are trying to set up a PSG boycott in retaliation to this transfer. According to a Maltese source which quotes L'Equipe, Bayern and Juventus have agreed to the boycott.

Heard a couple of reasons but it sounds like the chief ones are 1. Wanting to "Get out of Messi's shadow" - he feels like he was bought to replace Messi, but with Messi's form not really dropping much he's still obviously the go-to guy in Barcelona....apparently Neymar feels he can be the main man if he leaves for a different club, establish himself more as a star, increase his brand, whatever and 2. big money.....they'll pay a lot more than Barca would

There's a rumor that Real paid PSG 140 mil to go toward Neymar to get him out of Spain and the potential agreement that he joins Real later according to Spanish media. Dude Real and PSG couldn't be that messed up right?

Regardless of what is written or what is not, it's always dangerous to mess with people who have enough money and power to pay 300m € for a footballer.

If this deal goes through, then what good does a Barca boycott do? They did not want to sell Neymar either...I'm sure PSG will cry that Barca will never want to buy anybody from PSG in the future.

The only thing that would make any sense is that multiple top teams refuse to play against PSG in any competition. This would potentially wreck CL.
