"Le" means NO in Maltese :)

More and more I find it that Maltese is similar to Arabic (and for obvious reasons).
Think I know someone going there soon (long-term). Could have to watch that space.

You mean that he is coming to the supposed university that a certain jordanian is to build on a protected land? A land which will be sold by our corrupt liberal Govt (with trust funds in black listed Panama) who is selling our passports to wealthy / criminal ppl and who issued illegal visas to thousands of Libyans to come here?
Malta is beautiful but over populated... We are nearing the 500K ...

If it could be done i'd be thrilled to have him here. He's a very high quality player, versatile too.

I'm pretty sure Alaba would like this transfer to happen, this way he'll finally get to play in the midfield. He would also be a long term solution to our defense as he's only 21. Transfermarkt says he has a market value of 30mil. which I feel is way too much though. Certainly there are much cheaper options with slightly less or equal amout of skills in the market. If he does transfer over then =D>

I haven't seen enough of him to say he's definitely what we need or to be able to compare him to Boateng(which is kind of unfair anyway, but that's the benchmark...) But 30 mil. for a decent, talented CB with a lot of potential is reasonable IMHO...
Also, how come you're talking about Alaba? He's not a LB... Alaba still would have to play LB (IMHO)... :P

I thought about Benatia, who's transfer fee was in the mid 20's to 30 mil based on some sources like skysports. He WAS Roma's Boateng in a sense and probably was/is at his prime when we bought him and at present is, not considering the injuries. Marquinhos still is an uncertainty to some degree although he's looking very promising. I just wouldn't value a young Marquinhos the same as a developed Benatia.

As for the Alaba/LB thing, I assumed it would be under a back 3 formation where it would be something like Marquinhos Boa and Benatia. Hahaha... dreams.

A fit Benatia is easily on the same level of Boateng or even better. One thing I noticed is when he plays - our corners become dangerous again (when we don't ruin them by that freaking short pass), almost every single time he gets a header. The main problem is that he can't stay healthy for some months in a row #-o

Other than that - he is a beast.

Benatia's headers lack accuracy... Marquinhos' are better. For our next buy we'll probably look into that sort of stuff also... cause Boa's headers are almost nonexistent, I mean he knows how to head a ball but not to give them the right direction or put himself in a threatening position for those.
Set pieces won Ancelotti the last CL... so I put my trust in him.

True... I don't agree about the Boateng part though... Boateng is wayy faster and better in positioning and anticipation IMHO... Is your assessment on Benatia based on his Bayern or Roma performances?

Benatia is better defensively, but Boatengs superior playmaking makes out for it IMHO. The problem with Mehdi is that a) he's always injured b) thus, he is always put of form.

According to Wikipedia, Benatia played 23 games for us so far and we paid 28M for him + 6M salary... do the math and find out how much each game of his cost Bayern.

Bayern are among the clubs that are closely monitoring Marquinhos according to l'Equipe.

http://abonnes.lequipe.fr/Football/Arti ... ain/651361

For me, he's the ideal recruit because he has all the attributes of the modern CB and he can play as a right-back too, but the competition for him is fierce + PSG don't want to let him go.
