He's a player who likes taking unnecessary risks. Perhaps it's because he's young and still quite foolish but I just feel like he takes showboating a bit overboard.

PSG will not sell Verratti, not for this ridiculous sum.
We have to convince the player and then he has to convince Al-Khelaifi, PSG owner.
It looks very complicated to say the least.

He won't get first team football anyways, either we sign a new midfielder or not.
The sad truth.

If Rode wasn't german, I'm not sure he would have been recruited in the first place.
A casting mistake for me.

Rode
If we WOULD have the chance to sign Verratti, we can't be concerned about Rode.

What is up with all the sudden hate for Rode? He was free and put his work in so far.

Anywho, if we can get this guy I am so down. It will make my PSG friend furious and he will just say "you guys just buy everyone". Unlike PSG of course.

No one hates Rode. It's just more the fact that he seems to be overrated by a lot of Bayern fans.
Rode won't play a significant role in our future.

At the risk of turning this into a Rode thread as opposed to a Verratti transfer thread, I think Rode IS good.
We can only judge him based on the time he was getting regular starting football and that was at Frankfurt, where he was worshipped.
I think he's a good player, but would probably be a bit insulted if it was suggested that he get some loan experience, so catch-22.

In regards to the case of Verratti, I'd say that although he is a very talented young player, I'm not sure he'd fit right at Bayern- he would need to work hard on parts of his game and I'm not sure he'd be willing to do that, and we've already got an exceptional young player whose willingness to change his game to suit the team is up for debate.
All besides which if we're talking about positions we need to strengthen in the squad, CM/CDM/CAM is not really at the top of the list. We desperately need more width in the team, natural wide players on either side.
