Just look at Dortmund with Barrios as an example.... They have announced that he could leave the club for 12M... That gives out a signal that Dortmund's managers value him less than 12M, and are saying 12M in order to increase the fee they are wishing to get from his sale... so a club like Malaga offers 10M and hopes for a agreement... But if there was a 12M clause and Dortmund would have announced that they won't sell their star Barrios, Malaga would have probably offered the 12M and signed him by now... Because they won't be counting on Dortmund's willingness to sell, to sweeten the deal for them!

For God's sake, Isn't there anyone else in the forum who gets what I'm saying???

Haha, I'm thinking just like you. Maybe I didn't express myself enough good to explain what I thought few day ago.

But yes, that's the point. Sometimes it could be very good to have these clauses. You pointed with Barrios, that's a good example. Without clause, Malaga now can fck around BvB just because of 2 mil. euros. Otherwise, Dortmund's Barrios has this clause and they don't need to bargain with club who has rich arab owner and everything they need is to wait for this wanted offer.

OR. DORTMUND. CAN. LIE. Offer an "exclusive" report to goal.com from an "insider", and when formally approached, just say "we would sell him for x amount".

Hahaha! Good one :) But then I bet club managers don't care what goal.com's "insiders" think :)

How else are they supposed to find out? Almost all transfer clauses are kept in secret anyway.

According to Bild, Reus has an exit clause of 35 million euros applicable should he leave before 2015 (his contract is until 2017).

German Bundesliga players have voted Borussia Moenchengladbach midfielder Marco Reus as the best player of the season so far in a survey by Kicker sports magazine published Thursday.

More than one in three of the 228 players who took part in the survey picked the 22-year-old Germany international who will be moving to champions Borussia Dortmund at the end of the season.

Reus received 35.7 per cent of the votes, followed by his future Dortmund team-mate Mario Goetze (12.7 per cent) and Bayern Munich's France international Franck Ribery (12.2 per cent).

Dortmund have paid 17.1-million-euros (21.8 million dollars) for Reus who has scored 10 goals to help Moenchengladbach go into the winter break fourth in the table, four points behind leaders Bayern Munich.
